Although getting one of the year’s biggest releases at launch might seem like a big win for Game Pass users, it doesn’t seem like it’s going to be quite so simple. Since The Wall Street Journal’s report was released, several insiders have claimed that Call of Duty 2024’s arrival on the service will result in some changes to the tiers of Xbox Game Pass, which could even mean a price increase.
The reports started when gaming insider eXtas1stv tweetedthat they “can assure you that changes are coming to Xbox Game Pass Tiers mainly due to Call of Duty”.This same claim was made by gaming insider shinobi602 on ResetEra, who also claimed that some changes would be made to the service.

It seems like the details haven’t been fully confirmed yet, as both insiders didn’t go into detail about what exactly is going to change. The clearest indication we have comes from NateDrake,who backed up the claims made by eXtas1stv on ResetEraand said that the changes will be related to pricing and a tier change.
This indicates that Call of Duty 2024 being on Xbox Game Pass will either result in the service as a whole having a price increase, or a special tier being made that includes Call of Duty at a higher price.
