Microsoft is pushing for no ‘red line’ for what games could come to PlayStation.

“From what I’ve heard, Microsoft is pushing for no ‘red line’ for what games could come to PlayStation, and it all revolves around Satya Nadella and CFO Amy Hood’s mandate to increase every department’s margins,” Jez Corden writes. “Obviously, puttingHalo Infiniteon PlayStation will increase profit margins.”

What Xbox Exclusives Could Come To PlayStation?

The Vergepreviously reported that Microsoft is “weighing up the idea” of bringingGears of War,Microsoft Flight Simulator, and the nextDoomto platforms beyond Xbox. The former is a long-standing flagship series, so if the doors are open for one of its most iconic games, perhaps Halo isn’t such a far-fetched idea.

There are a slew of exclusives fans have been hoping to see on PlayStation over the years. One that crops up again and again isSunset Overdrive, developed by Sony-owned Insomniac Games (Ratchet & Clank,Marvel’s Spider-Man). Insomniac is still the IP holder, so a sequel could feasibly happen on PlayStation, but the original is currently an Xbox exclusive.

There’s also theForzaseries,Starfield, andFabletrilogy, as well as future releases likeThe Elder Scrolls 6,Fallout 5,Avowed, andIndiana Jones and the Great Circle. Maybe we’ll see these step foot into the world of multiplatform one day, too.

Exclusivity has been falling out of favour over the years across the entire industry, with leading players like PlayStation and Xbox both branching out into PC, launching some of their heaviest hitters on Steam.

But outside of the major consoles,Forbesreports that Square Enix is reportedly “done” with PlayStation exclusives aftersignificant profit dropsof minus 69.7 percent year over year.

We’re seeing a historic shift in the industry, but it remains to be seen how far Xbox will go with what games it ports. Who knows, maybe one day soon we’ll be playing Halo 3 on the PS5.
