In the Dragon’s Dogma franchise, the Arisen is the one destined to fight the Dragon, ending the lizard’s rampage through the land and assuring a time of peace for the people. While your player character acts as the current Arisen, there have been plenty more before their time.
In fact, there are quite a few active Arisen inDragon’s Dogma 2, even if you didn’t notice at first. While they can all hold their own in a fight, most of them haven’t even conquered their main foe, which begs the question: who among all these Arisen is the most powerful one?

Who Are The Arisen Of Dragon’s Dogma 2?
Once you gain the Godsbaneduring the main questlineof Dragon’s Dogma 2, you’ll see a lot of red symbols on your map. These look like your own scar, and they mark the previous Arisen of this world, all ready to teach you their secret techniques.
You can tell these people were Arisen not only due to their scars, but because they use Vocations that are exclusive to the Arisen, like the Trickster or the Wayfarer.

These old Arisen are Luz, Sigurd, Cliodhna, and Lamond, who can each teach youtheir exclusive Vocations.Their combat abilities certainly make them great, but they all failed to defeat their main foe: the Red Dragon.
The other two Arisens of note are the Dragonforged and the Rivage Elder. We know little about them, and while we can speculate that the Elder traveledto the Unmoored world, he didn’t necessarily defeat the Red Dragon in combat to do so, meaning that his only feat tells us nothing.

Noteworthy Arisen Of Dragon’s Dogma 1
From the many Arisen you may find in the first game, the only two that bear mentioning are Savan and Ashe. They are the final confrontation of their own campaigns, making them stronger than the Red Dragon simply by being the boss that comes after it.
Savan is the Seneschal of Dragon’s Dogma 1, which makes him the final challenge of the original campaign. To earn that spot, you have to have slain the Red Dragon and the previous Arisen that held the Seneschal position, making Savan already mightier than any of the mentioned Arisen from Dragon’s Dogma 2.
Ashe is the final encounter from the Dark Arisen DLC, and while he technically never defeated his Dragon, his demonic form of Daimon is certainly stronger than anything the first game has to offer. He gained his power by cursing the cycle, sacrificing his beloved against the Dragon, and becoming the toughest boss the original game has to offer.
Who Is The Strongest Arisen?
You might think that the strongest Arisen is the main character (you), since that’s who defeats every single challenge thrown by the cycle. Not only are Savan and Ashe required bosses from the previous game, but you can just go fight all the other Arisen present in Dragon’s Dogma 2 and prove your superiority.
Yet there is one Arisen you cannot fight, and it is implied by the game that if you could, you would just lose spectacularly. This is because the strongest Arisen is Rothais, the Mad Sovran, who has defeated so many Arisen thatthe cycle needed to be tweakedto accommodate for his might.
He’s the reason why you no longer become Seneschal in Dragon’s Dogma 2, since he is the one currently holding the position, and defeating him seems impossible. Granted, he is little more than a ghost when you meet him, but that makes him all the more powerful: something you can’t fight is impossible to beat.
