From all the characters you may interact with inStellar Blade, few are as central to the plot as Mother Sphere, even though her dialogue lines last for less than a minute. Yet her impact can be felt across the whole game, since she is the center of civilization for the Colony.
So who is this mysterious Mother, and why is she so powerful among the people of Stellar Blade? To understand this, you’ll need to know how she came to be, what her goals seem to be, and what to expect from her in future titles.

Who Is Mother Sphere?
Mother Sphere is a highly advanced artificial intelligencecreated by Raphael Marks before the Last War. All we know of her physical form is thatshe looks like a child, but said form could be a projection and nothing more; unlike other androids, she doesn’t need to be somewhere physically to exert her influence.
After her creation,Raphael made the Andro Eidos, a series of androids with artificial intelligence based off of Mother Sphere. Since they were so advanced and capable,Mother Sphere (self-aware by this point) decided that the Earth should belong to the androids.
This led her to declare war on humanity, using the Andro Eidos as her army. Humanity was on its last legs, but in a final effort to survive, they underwent a forced evolution process thatturned them into Naytibas, monsters capable of fighting back against the androids.
The Lie Of Mother Sphere
With theAndro Eidos unable to defeat the Naytibas, Mother Sphere has them retreat to the Colony, a space station orbiting the Earth.She then sends part of the Colony crashing down towards the Earth, so the planet becomes a barren wasteland, killing a great number of Naytibas in the process.
The Colony was originally made by the Orca corporation during humanity’s prime.
Mother Sphere decided that, since the androids were the ones that should inherit the Earth,they were now the new humans. Under this logic,she made the Andro Eidos believe they were, in fact, descendants of humansfrom before the war, and the Naytibas were nothing but monsters responsible for the Earth being a wasteland.
Can Mother Sphere See The Future?
From the enigmatic conversation EVE has with Mother Sphereat the end of the game, we can assume thatthe leader of the androids has some form of prophetic ability.This power isn’t perfect, and she likely does it by calculating all possible alternatives thanks to her highly advanced intelligence.
The reason we know it isn’t perfect is due to how she talks to EVE, depending on the ending chosen.If you decline Adam’s offer, Mother Spheretalks about reading the future, as if it was set in stone, butif you accept it, she talks about predicting the future, as if there was a margin for error.
This means thatMother Sphere could see the events of the game beforehand, up until the last choice given to EVE. This would explain howshe was able to send Providence, the exosuit, to save EVE when she was falling to her death:she knew that would happen.
