Eriette is a witch from theMagic: The Gathering’splane of Eldraine. She is entwined with the lives of the Kenrith twins and one of three sisters, who all played a major role in stopping the Phyrexian invasion of Eldraine.
Eriette, the self-proclaimed “Ardent Queen,” is an Esper-aligned character, and often finds herself in the role of a villain rather than a hero. She has traveled the Multiverse through omenpaths, and has made friends and enemies alike with various characters from other planes. Among her powers, she can control those who are asleep.
The Wicked Slumber
When New Phyrexia invaded the Multiverse with the Realmbreaker,Eldraine was one of the planes attacked. Many citizens were compleated andconverted into Phyrexians, including the realm of Loctwain.
To stop the Phyrexians,Eriette, along with her sisters Agatha and Hylda, worked together to cast the Wicked Slumberunder the orders of the fae lord Talion. This put the Phyrexian under a spell to put them into eternal slumber, and stopped the invaders in their tracks. As a reward, Eriette was given a charmed apple that helped amplify her powers.
While theWicked Slumber stopped Phyrexia,it also affected innocent inhabitantsof Eldraine itself. Eriette wanted to keep the slumber going, as she could control those under the spell, andsought to build up a new kingdom with herself on the throne.
During Eriette’s quest for power,she met the planeswalker Ashiok, who relished in nightmares. They both worked together to keep the Wicked Slumber going so Eriette could have power and Ashiok could feed on their nightmares. Eriette also recruited the help ofherniece Rowan Kenrithafter she and her brother Will had a falling out. This happened after the death of their parents during the Phyrexian invasion.
However, Eriette’s plan failed whenWill Kenrith arrived with a united army along with thehalf-fae Kellan, who managed to defeat Ashiok. They defeated her army of the enchanted, and Eriette was captured and put in jail.
Heisting The Vault
Eriette wassaved from jailby who she believed to be Ashiok, though this was theplaneswalker Jace Beleren, who was disguised as Ashiok. Afterward,she was taken to the planeThunder Junction, where she joined a group of outlaws across the Multiverse led by theplaneswalker Oko.
Her first mission was to help break both Kaervek and Satoru Umezawa from prison to recruit them for the heist team. They were successful, and the mission was revealed.The group was to gather the keys to Thunder Junction’s vaultMaag Taranauas Jace (who they still believed was Ashiok) sought what was inside it. Their efforts would be handsomely rewarded.
The group managed to gather all the keys, but at the last minute,they were betrayed bycrew members Vraskaand Jace,who revealed his true identity. The two traitors claimed the contents of the vault for themselves —an ancient creature namedLoot.
The remaining members of the crew went their separate ways after these events, disappointed in their lack of reward. Oko promised to find a new score for the group to get, but most members didn’t like it.Eriette was the only one who remained in the group, and said she wasmore than willing to work with Okofor a proper reward, and to settle the score against Jace.
