They are nuanced characters, who make mistakes, are full of vibrant personalities, and are relatable.Hades 2does an excellent job at showcasing this relatability. Even if you don’t necessarily relate with or connect to the gods, you may find yourself connecting to some of the many once-human characters that populate the world.
The influence of Greek Mythology andtales of the godsis palpable in the modern world, especially in the constellations. Sometimes, to understand yourself better, all you really need to do is look to the sky.
12Aries - Hestia
March 21 - April 19
Hestia is the walking definition of a spitfire, tenacious and bold, completely unafraid to go scorched earth on her enemies and those who have wronged her friends. She can be friendly when she wants, a warm and comforting hearth, but making one wrong move and she’s sure to become a raging inferno. She maintains little regret for her actions and is, overall, a delightful person to work with and collect Boons from.
If you’re an Aries, it’s more than likely that you’re much the same. Although your words may be spoken in an optimistic tone, there’s something more devious underneath — something that makes you a person not to be trifled with.
11Taurus - Hecate
April 20 - May 20
Headmistress Hecate is the leader and protector of the Crossroads, alongside being Melinoe’s faithful teacher. She can often come off as harsh and certainly stoic, but she means well. While she has faith in the skills around her and acts as a reliable cornerstone of the Crossroads, she is clearly worried about the future.
Much like a Taurus, Hecate is reliable and logical, thinking through each decision with some modicum of impartialness. She means well and is incredibly loyal and even kind when the situation warrants it. Even though she and you cannot tell the future, you are both confident in your plans and those under your care.
10Gemini - Melinoe
May 21 - June 20
It’s inevitable that Melinoe would turn out to be an exceedingly patient person, especially when the thing that she’s fighting is time itself. She can be a bit rash and impatient when rilled up, such as in her rivalry with Nemesis, but most of the time, she’s exceedingly careful. She takes each lesson and challenge with grace, coming back stronger the next time.
In many ways, Melinoe is the epitome of a Gemini. She’s exceedingly clever and quick on her toes (in both the metaphorical and literal sense). Even when she does act rashly, the care she put into her previous plans helps to keep her from getting into too much trouble.
9Cancer - Arachne
June 21 - July 22
Arachne clearly cares for Melinoe, continuouslyoffering her help through gifts and keepsakes. However, even she cannot keep her grudges hidden for long, especially when she was so severely hurt by the actions (and the inaction) of the gods. Despite knowing that Melinoe will continue to help them, Arachne still stands loyal to her friend.
Much like Arachne, Cancers make great confidants and loyal friends. However, chances are, if you’re a Cancer and have been betrayed when you needed help the most, you have yet to forgive and forget — and you likely never will. Even still, you do your best not to let it impact your current loyalties (though you aren’t afraid to voice your displeasure at times).
8Leo - Odysseus
July 23 - August 22
Despite being dead, Odysseus is a great representation of Leo — reliable and absolutely overflowing with life. Although he isn’t the main character in this story,it’s clear that he was in the Odyssey.A natural-born leader, ready to take charge of the story and guide it to its fated end. However, there’s a lot more depth to him than he may let on, and even he, charismatic as he displays, has his bad days.
Leos are a bit notorious for their dramatics and their confident nature, which makes them memorable people. However, much like Odysseus, if you’re a Leo, you may feel the need to put on a brave and confident face for the people around you (especially during rough patches). Sometimes, though, it’s good to let others in and help you out when the going gets tough.
7Virgo - Chronos
August 23 - September 22
Virgo, just because youshare some personality traits with Chronos, that doesn’t mean you’re a terrible person. If anything, you should take pride in your patience, organization, and cleverness. Chronos' scheme has been long devised and carefully planned. He’s exceedingly clever in his plots, even if Melinoe proves to be a previously unaccounted-for problem. Still, a pest can hardly stop him from taking what he is owed.
Like Chronos, you, as a Virgo, are probably a practical person. Although you may be confident in your skills and your plans, you need to verify that you don’t let your pride come before the fall. Take time to re-examine and rework your plans when needed.
6Libra - Dora
September 23 - October 22
Dora is a delightful character who, while she may not know much about her life and death, is constantly spinning fantastical theories and ideas. There are times when she can seem a bit out of touch with current events or the seriousness of various situations, far too wrapped up in her own overthinking. And, at some points, that overthinking leads her to spiral.
Libras have vibrant personalities that make them delightful to interact with, especially if they’re the first person (or ghost) you meet after a long journey. If you’re a Libra, you probably have a strong imagination, which can lend itself to overlooking the obvious in favor of second and triple-guessing everything. However, with some friends who are less prone to overthinking, like Melinoe, you should be fine.
5Scorpio - Nemesis
October 23 - November 21
Nemesis is headstrong and powerful, frequently challenging Hecate’s authority and Melinoe’s skills. She has her assigned post and yet she constantly seeks to prove her worth in other areas, indicating her strength of will and her desire to be recognized. She may overstep her post at times, but it’s all mostly done with good intent. She can be snippy and short, at times, but it’s simply because she knows that she — and others — can do better.
Scorpios, like Nemesis, are incredibly brave and powerful. You appear incredibly confident to the world, though that confidence might lead you to overextending yourself. As much as you may wish to connect with those around you, you need to take the time to let people help you out — it takes a great deal of courage to admit your faults and weaknesses.
4Sagittarius - Apollo
November 22 - December 21
Apollo is, to put it simply, a ray of sunshine. He lights up the world around him and provides some excellent Boons to boot. Even in dark times, he’s layering on compliments and praise. He can be a bit over-enthusiastic and rash at times, but that hardly hinders his desire to roam free and light up the world.
If you’re a Saggitarius, chances are you are the light of everyone’s life, too. However, in that quest to be a ray of sunshine, you may overlook your own struggles and needs and end up back in a corner (Much like Apollo on Olympus).
3Capricorn - Moros
December 22 - January 19
Moros is a practical and reasonable person. He’s a little bit out of touch with the rest of the world and can come off as unempathetic at times, but he truly does care. He desires to give those who suffer some dignity, even in their final moments. The work he does is incredibly important, not only in aiding the fates but in comforting those who meet their doom.
If you’re a Capricorn, chances are you’re much the same. People around you might be intimidated and think you’re a bit off-putting at times, but you shouldn’t let that stop you from connecting with others and reaching your goals. Much like Moros, you likely do your utmost to treat those around you with dignity and respect.
