Best Choice For Beginners
Ameya Aisling
If you’renew to the seriesor want a slow start so you can learn all the mechanics of the game,Ameya Aisling is your best bet. While she travels to many worlds, you’llalways return to Miyako Cityto complete the next step in your Witchterms.
The premise is simple:you’re an aspiring witchthat needs to regain your power to pass your exam. you may do that by collecting cats in theKitty Collector minigame. It’s short, sweet, and simple.

You’ll still get tomake important, game-affecting choices, but the emphasis is more onregaining your powersand completing your exams. Ameya makes foragreat first-impressionsince you assume the role of amagical girl equivalentto complete an exam and officially become a witch.
Best Choice For Veterans
Tsunanori Mido
Theself-described protagonistof the game, Tsunanori Mido givesa little bit of everythingthe game has to offer. He starts in Miyako City and quickly departs toseveral different worldsthat offer unique pieces of the game, from a fantastical world of witches to a sci-fi base filled with researchers.
You’ll start off with afull party of diverse fighting styles, so you can learn plenty of techs and test out different formations. Those who are alreadyfamiliar with the controlscan test out more complicated battle strategies and get the most out of the battle system.

Best Choice For Something New
Siugnas
If you want to dive into something a little more unique, start with Siugnas. The intro is quick and leaves you with little to go off of, but throws youhead-first into a narrative about the Dismal Kingbeing dethroned.
While theother protagonists are undoubtedly goodpeople, theimmortal vampire lordof Yomi plays a little differently. The unconventional start ofbeing removed from your throneand thrown into the world of the dead (or in his case, the undead) makes for an excellent character arc.
Being the hero is overdone, but Siugnas allows you toplay as the dark lordwho needs to claw his way back home.
