If you’re getting ready to set sail for Tural and you want to unlock Pictomancer ASAP, fortunately for you, you can unlock in one of the base areas and don’t have to wait until you actually arrive on those distant shores. Here’s everything you need to know.
Where To Find The ‘The Joy of Pictomancy’ Quest
To unlock Pictomancer, you have to complete the quest’The Joy of Pictomancy', which can be obtained by speaking withCheerless HearerinOld Gridaniaat(X:8.0, Y:10.3)
You must be on a Disciple of War or Magic job that is Level 80 or above to start this quest.
After accepting the quest, head toNew Gridaniaand interact with theDestinationspot at(X:11:0, Y:11.3)for a cutscene where you learn about the job and Relm (a great reference for FF fans).
Next, go to(X:12.3, Y:13.1)to speak withKupopoabout your interview and answer the questions however you like.
After the interview, speak withKupopoagain at(X:12.3, Y:13.1)to complete the quest and receive yourSoul of the Pictomancer,Weathered Painter’s Attire Coffer, andWeathered Round Brush.
How Do I Learn The Pictomancer Basics?
Once you’ve switched roles to Pictomancer, you can immediately take up the next quest,‘Mind over Manor’fromKupopoat(X:12.3, Y:13.1)inNew Gridania.
This quest is a tutorial for the job role.
Return toOld Gridaniaand speak to theCheerless Hearerat(X:8.0, Y:10.3)for a cutscene, before heading to(X:11.7, Y:4.4)to speak withKupopoagain to put your Pictomancer skills to the test and teach you about Motifs.
Once you’re done learning the basics,speak with Kupopo to proceed, then follow them down to the next level andspeak with them againto learn about the Palette Gauge.
Continue progressing through andtake on the Sprigganto showcase everything you’ve learned.
Once the duty is complete and you’re back inOld Gridania, speak withKupopoat(X:11.8, Y:4.5)to complete the quest.
