Whereas Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s level cap was 50, it’s been raised to 70 inFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirth. You do start the game at level 15 - a nice nod to the average post-Midgar level in the original game - but that’s still a long way to the top.

What’s more, levels tend to come more slowly in the comparatively larger FF7 Rebirth. The EXP Up Materia can be a real boon for those who hope to get their team as powerful as possible, so knowing where to find it (and when) will help you out considerably. If that’s you, read on!

Where To Find The EXP Up Materia In Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

First, the bad news. TheEXP Up Materia isn’t available until Chapter 13, when the party is on their near-climactic adventure in theTemple of the Ancients.

This does put aconsiderable limit on how much time you’ll have to make the most of it, but clearing FF7 Rebirth unlocksChapter Select, at which point you may use the EXP Up wherever you may be.

To obtain the EXP Up Materia, keep an eye out for thewaterfall section, and leap down once you’re there. (It’s a long fall, and the party will unanimously voice their displeasure.)

Climb three sets of stairs, each of which will be on your left. After the third ascent, you will find theAmberstar Gear along the wall to your right.

Turn the Amberstar Gear clockwise by one “degree"and carry forth on this new path.Circle around this new flooryou’re on,climbing the stairsat the opposite end.

Defeat the Ancient Dragons, climb one more set of stairs(these will be behind a gate, but they’re plenty obvious) and the EXP Up Materia will be locatedat the top of this final ascent.
