After receiving the old Regalia Sword in a prior quest inDragon’s Dogma 2, it’s still far from being repaired, and not for lack of trying. The sword was forged with an old technique that few blacksmiths use, and without it, the Regalia Sword can’t even be restored to its proper state.

Unfortunately for you, even an Arisen isn’t gifted with the ability to smith and repair blades, but Sara might have what it takes. If you want to bring the old symbol of grace and power back to Vernmund, you’ll have to venture out to a volcanic island and take a walk on the hot side.

How To Start Steeled Resolve, Blazing Forge

Steeled Resolve, Blazing Forgestarts immediately afterthe completion of theprerequisite quest, Dulled Steel, Cold Forgeso when you’re ready, head toBrokkr’s Home in Bakbattahl, andspeak with Sara.

After the conversation between her and Brokkr,wait at least one in-game dayby staying at an inn or resting on a bench, thengo back to Brokkr’s Home.

This timespeak to Brokkr, and you’ll betasked with finding Saraat theMountain Base Cave on Agumen Volcanic Island, which is located in thesoutheastern corner of the map.

Where To Find Mountain Base Cave

Toget to Agumen Volcanic Island, you’ll either need togo through the Flamebearer Palace Spellseal Door once it’s unlockedduring the main quest line or take the longer and more dangerousroute through Drabnir’s Grotto.

Drabnir’s Grotto islocated on the southeastern edge of Battahl, and willbring you closer to the quest areathan if you travel through the Spellseal Door.

You canfind Mountain Base Cavein a cornerbetween the exit of Drabnir’s Grotto and Volcanic Island Campon Agumen Volcanic Island.

How To Navigate Mountain Base Cave

From the entrance of Mountain Base Cave,head into the mountain itself, andfollow the pathuntil you reach anarea that’s briefly outsideand has a Magma Rattler there.

TheMountain Base Cave is full of fire element enemieslikeMagma Slimes, so bring a Mage with Ice Affinity or a Sorcerer with Ice Spells for an easier time.

Go backdown inside the mountain again, and take out the two Stout Zombies, then continue on. You’ll haveone Magma Slime to killin the corner, thentake the path up and arounduntil youreach a small canyon.

Defeat the next few Magma Slimes and the Magma Rattler if it comes down, thenhead forward, passing by the pillarfor now, andgo into the mountain again.

While you don’t have to kill all the enemies beforehand,making sure Mountain Base Cave is emptyof threats willmake the next quest part much easier.

Get rid of the Magma Slime again, then cross the gap. There will be a path going forward and adoorway with stairs going down to your left, and going inside the room will lead you toSara standing at a forge.

How To Get Sara Through The Mountain Base Cave Safely

Speak with Saraat the forge, and she’ll tell you that she’s got the blazehammer ready, andafter the conversation, you’ll need toescort her back to the entrance within a time limit.

If youdon’t get Sara to the entrance within around a minute, you willneed to go back to the forgeand let Sara reignite the hammer and redo the escort.

Because Sara’s carrying the hammer, youwon’t be able to carry her like other escort NPCs, so take thepath past the door and curve back aroundto the canyon.

Drop down anduse the fallen pillarfrom before, andhead back towards the entrance while Sara followsbehind you, thengo forward at the end and jump downto the chest; either save it for later or grab it if you have the time, thendrop and take the path back towards the entrance. If you werequick enough, you’llget a cutscene with Saramarking your success when she gets there.

Yourescort will be complete as long asthe hammer is blazingwhen Sara’s scene is triggered at the entrance, even if it goes out during the conversation or as she runs off.

How To Obtain TheRestored Regalia Sword

Either walk back ortake aFerrystoneto aPortcrystalyou’ve placed at Bakbattahl, thenreturn to Brokkr’s Homein the city.

Go inside and watch the scenebetween Sara and Brokkr. After it’s over,Sara will speakto you again, and she’llgive you the Restores Regalia Sword.

Eitheruse aFerrystoneor take an oxcartride all the wayback to Vernworth, thenfind Roman in the Royal Quarternear one of thegardens to the side. Speak to him, and after the conversation, you’ll berewarded with some EXP and 35,000 Gold.
