Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroesis a game that features a pretty heavy emphasis on acquiring warriors to fight alongside you. This guide covers Grum County, which is the opening area of the game. The Grum Region includes Eltisweiss, Alterverden, Werne Village, Fort Xialuke, and Redthroat Ridge.
Nearly all of these locations house unique characters to recruit. However, a lot of your time will be spent stumbling around the Redthroat Ridge, as you’ll need to interact with the ridge in one way or another for three separate recruits. We’ll show you the most efficient ways to acquire each character and help you find the ones you may have missed.
At the moment, this guide has all the characters recruitable during the first section of the game; the rest of the characters will be added over the course of the next 24 hours.
Requirements
None
Iugo is the easiest character to acquire first… if you know where he is. Simply head to the eastmost staircase in Eltisweiss. Partway down the stairs there is an alleyway on your left. This leads directly to the tavern Iugo is hanging out in. This tavernismarked on the map, so use that if you are struggling to find the alleyway.
You must defeat Nethus in the Redthroat Ridge
Climb the stairs in the center of Eltiweiss(from the south exit, head directly north past the fountain). This will trigger a cutscene with Mellore. Follow her out of town, head to theRedthroat Ridge, and work your way to the end of it to recruit Mellore.
You’ll fight Nerthus at the end of the Redthroat Ridge. The gimmick here involves choosing the correct grimoire: guess right to deal massive damage.Yusuke is a great choice for this encounter as he can charge up for a big attack, and Francesca adds a huge amount of stability with her healing magic.
Make sure to talk to Kuruto in Alterverden before heading to the Redthroat Ridge. That way you can kill two birds with one stone and complete his recruitment requirements as well.
You’ll find Yusuke atFort Xialue(north of Eltisweiss) being harassed by some guards. Simply stand up for him, tell the bullies that “He’s not the culprit” and Yusuke will join your crew.
You must hunt three Wild Boars in the Redthroat Ridge
Kuroto is positioned in the southwest corner ofAlterverden Village. He’ll be available as a recruit once you have started “The Watch Captain’s First Job” mission. Talk to him, and he will inform you that you will need to slay three Wild Boars in order to recruit him. These boars are found randomly at the Redthroat Bridge.
Ideally, you will accept this mission before you complete Mellore’s mission.
Francesca is found in the northwest corner ofAlterverdan Village. She is being accosted by some goons. Don’t worry, you won’t have to fight them or anything; just sit back and watch the show. Then, welcome her to your army.
During the “Searching the Tunnels” mission
Find Yume in the Redthroat Ridge
Speak to the old lady west of the entrance of Werne Village. She’ll tell you that she is concerned about her granddaughter -Yume - who has gone missing. You’ll find Yume inRedthroat Ridge.She’s not particularly far in, and you can’t miss her if you simply follow the main path. Once you talk to her, she’ll agree to join your army.
Yume is canonically six years old. You have now recruited a six-year-old into your army. That is what most people would call a child soldier. Feel bad.
Frida has set up her shop next to the townhall in Werne Village. Once you obtain your castle, go back through the Abandoned Mine to Werne Villahe. Talk to her and she’ll join you.
To get back to the Abandoned Mine from your castle,head through the central door on the first floor, this will take you to the graveyard. From here, head down the well.You will now be at the end of the mine. Thankfully, a shortcut will now be available. Head directly south and you will be most of the way through the mine.
15 Healing Herbs
Falward is available once you have obtained your castle. Simply head back to Alterverdan through the Abandoned Mine, and go to the townhall in the northwest corner of the map. You’ll need to give him 15 Healing Herbs, at which point he will join your team.
During the “Euchrisse, the Land of Water” mission
Pieter is part of the next wave of recruits who become available once you have reached the “Euchrisse, the Land of Water” section of the story. Simply head to the northwest corner of Werne Village and talk to Pieter. He will happily join you.
A character with 300 MP or more
Maureus is another one of the characters that becomes available once you have begun the “Euchrisse, the Land of Water” story chapter. You’ll find him on the northwest corner of the Mountain Path Homeward. You will need a character with a ton of MP before you can recruit him, though.300 MP did it for us.So, load a mage up with accessories and MP increasing runes and that should do the trick.
Once you have unlocked the Eastern Desert
Bring her the cockatrice egg.
Deliver the egg to the merchant.
Isha quest is a three-parter. You will need to first find the black cat hidden in Eltisweiss. After that, you will need to go fight the Cockatrice (found on The Mountain Path) and get one of its eggs.
