The Final Fantasy series has experimented with its combat style plenty of times across its many entries, and with the Final Fantasy 7 Remake series, they’ve found themselves a winner. With a mix of more classic ATB commands and real-time combat,Final Fantasy 7 Rebirthrefines and deepens the system even further.

Like any game, the weapons your characters wield are core to how you operate in combat, with each new weapon unlocking new abilities for their respective character. There are quite a few weapons to find in Rebirth, seven for each character, so let’s dive in and show you where to find each and every one of them.

Chests containing weapons can be denoted by their purple colour, as opposed to the standard yellow.

All Cloud Weapon Locations

Cloud is our main protagonist, and can never be removed from the party except for during specific story moments. As such, you’ll always want him at his best, so keep a look out for his weapons first and foremost.

Buster Sword

This is Cloud’s default weapon. It comes with theFocused Thrust abilityand is evenly balanced.

Sleek Saber

This weapon can be found in the Grasslands region ina small chest by the abandoned dock. It comes with the Firebolt Blade ability and is geared towards physical damage.

Rune Blade

This weapon can be found in theStarboard Connecting Passage of Junon just before the boss fight with Roche. It comes with the Disorder ability and is geared towards magic.

Umbral Blade

This weapon can be found on thebottom floor of the Solemnitude Manor in the Dustbowl. It comes with the Prime Mode ability and is geared towards extra materia slots.

Crystal Sword

The Crystal Sword can be found in theGongaga Reactor Freight Corridor.It comes with the Infinity’s Edge ability and boosts magic and strength at the expense of materia slots.

Igneous Saber

The Igneous Saber can be found on themetal scaffolding by the climbable walls on Mt. Nibel. It comes with the Blade Burst ability and offers dramatically increased strength for significantly lower magic.

Slipstream Saber

The Slipstream Saber can be found in theTemple of the Ancients in the Corridor of Trepidation, up a patch of climbable ivy before inverting gravity. It comes with the Counterstance ability and offers dramatically increased magic at the expense of strength.

All Tifa Weapon Locations

Tifa is the perfect pugilist, reducing enemies to dust with her rapid-fire strikes. She has some of the most precise movements and button presses, so you’ll need to be on your toes to use her well.

Leather Gloves

These are Tifa’s default gloves. They come with the Divekick ability and are evenly balanced.

Sylph Gloves

The Sylph Gloves can be found in theMythril Mines on the first level. They come with the Reverse Gale Ability and are geared more towards magic attack.

Kaiser Knuckles

The Kaiser Knuckles can be found in theShinra-8 Cruiser during Chapter 5 while below deck. They come with the Overpower ability and are geared more towards strength.

These gloves, though hard to miss, can be missed as you cannot later return to the Shinra-8 Cruiser.

Dragon Claws

The Dragon Claws can bewon from the Desert Rush minigame. They come with the Starshower ability and focus more on high strength.

Tiger Fangs

The Tiger Fangs can be found in theGongaga Reactor during the segment where you play as Tifa with the Grappling Gun. They come with the Chi Trap ability and focus on materia slots over increased stats.

Crystal Gloves

The Crystal Gloves can be foundright by the entrance to Mt. Nibel.They come with the Unfettered Fury ability and focus on magic attack.

Járngreipr

Járngreipr can be found in theTemple of the Ancients after being separated from Aerith, in the Hall Of Life.They come with the True Strike ability and focus on materia slots.

All Barret Weapon Locations

Barret is in many ways the tank of the party, yet also has great long-range capabilities making him a surprisingly versatile character and can draw enemies away from other characters.

Gatling Gun

The Gatling Gun is Barret’s default weapon. It comes with the Focused Shot ability and is evenly balanced.

Hi-Caliber Rifle

The Hi-Caliber Rifle can be found on theSwamp Island in the Grasslands region after acquiring a Chocobo. It comes with the Bonus Round ability and is focused on strength.

Barrage Blaster

The Barrage Blaster can be found in the Corel regionby the entrance of the Corel Mine. It comes with the Lifesaver ability and is geared towards strength.

Vulcan Cannon

The Vulcan Cannon can be found in the Corel Region,off to the side of the area where Barret meets Dyne. It comes with the Charging Uppercut ability and is geared towards magic attack.

Fafnir Rifle

The Fafnir Rifle can be found in the Gongaga Region as a reward for theIn The Pursuit Of Perfection Quest. It comes with the Point Blank ability and is geared towards magic attack.

Calamitous Bazooka

The Calamitous Bazooka can be foundduring Red XIII’s trial in Cosmo Canyon, in the Gate of Anger room. It comes with the Smackdown ability and is geared more towards strength.

Battle Cry

Battle Cry can be found in theTemple of Ancients in the Corridor of Catastrophe after the party has been separated from Aerith. It comes with the Turbulent Spirit ability and is geared towards strength.

All Aerith Weapon Locations

Aerith is the traditional mage of the party, being slow and weak in regular attacks, but can unleash some devastating magic with a bit of set-up.

Guard Stick

The Guard Stick is Aerith’s default weapon. It comes with the Arcane Ward ability and is evenly balanced.

Timeless Rod

The Timeless Rod can be found inBill’s Ranch beside the Tack Shopin the Grasslands Region. It comes with the Chrono Aegis ability and is geared towards magic attack.

Empress’s Scepter

The Empress’s Scepter can be foundin Aerith’s room after the party returns to the hotel in Under Junon. It comes with the Radiant Ward ability and is geared towards strength.

Wizard’s Rod

The Wizard’s Rod can be found in the Corel regionduring the climb up Mt. Corel, by a river a few steps across from the first rest areaafter the party separates. It comes with the Lustrous Shield ability and is geared towards materia slots.

Ceremonial Staff

The Ceremonial Staff can be foundin the Village of the Gi in the Cosmo Canyon Region. It comes with the ATB Ward ability and has limited materia slots but high strength and magic.

Plumose Rod

The Plumose Rod can be found inthe newly opened room underneath Shinra Manor after completing every Combat Simulator challenge there. It comes with the Ray Of Judgement ability and has increased magic attack.

Gambanteinn

Gambanteinn can be found in theTemple of the Ancients by Aerith after being separated from Cloud, in the Sorrow’s Descent. It comes with the Noble Sacrifice ability and has balanced stats with high materia slots.

All Red XIII Weapon Locations

Red XIII is a character all about reaction times. He is fast and can dole out heavy damage, but he can also operate as a powerful buffer through the use of his many weapon abilities.

Mythril Collar

This is Red XIII’s default weapon. It comes with the Stardust Ray ability and is evenly balanced.

Renegade’s Collar

The Renegade’s Collar can be foundin the Mythril Mines after Red XIII and Barret have been separated from the party. It comes with the Crescent Claw ability and has increased strength.

Silver Collar

The Silver Collar can be earned as a reward from the Free-For-All tier of the Run Wild minigamein Costa Del Sol. It comes with the Chilling Roar ability and boosted stats alongside a decent offering of materia slots.

Amethyst Collar

The Amethyst Collar can be foundin the first room of the Old South Corel mine, which is accessed during the Of Robed Men And Ransoms side quest. It comes with the Supernal Fervor ability and increased stats.

Golden Collar

The Golden Collar can be found inthe Gongaga Reactor with Cloud on top of a container while increasing the water levels. It comes with the Watcher’s Respite ability and increased strength.

Mystic Collar

The Mystic Collar can be obtained bypicking it up and presenting it to Bugenhagen at the beginning of Red XIII’s trial in Cosmo Canyon. It comes with the Watcher’s Spirit ability and increased strength.

Brísingamen

Brísingamen can be found by Aerithin the Temple of the Ancients, in the Corridor of Repose. It comes with the Reaper Touch ability and increased magic attack.

All Yuffie Weapon Locations

Yuffie is an all-rounderin that she can master combat both at close and long-range, dealing physical and magical damage. Mastering both is the key to playing her.

4-Point Shuriken

The 4-Point Shuriken is one of Yuffie’s default weapons. It comes with the Elemental Ninjutsu ability and is evenly balanced.

Savage Dagger

The Savage Dagger is Yuffie’s second default weapon. It comes with the Blindside ability as well as increased magic.

Twin Viper

Twin Viper can be found inthe Corel Mine beside a switch after Yuffie first uses the Grappling Hook. It comes with the Windstorm ability and increased strength.

Bird Of Prey

Bird of Preycan be found in Cissnei’s house in Gongaga. It comes with the Doppelgänger ability and increased strength.

Crescent Sickle

The Crescent Sickle can beobtained as a reward from the first Glide de Chocobo minigamein Cosmo Canyon. It comes with the Shooting Star ability and increased magic.

Crystalline Cross

The Crystalline Cross can be foundin the Gold Saucer while chasing Cait Sith in Chapter 12. It comes with the Banishment ability and increased strength.

Fuma Shuriken

The Fuma shuriken can be foundin the Temple of the Ancients after everyone faces their visions of struggle. It comes with the Purification ability and increased magic.

All Cait Sith Weapon Locations

Cait Sith is a wild cardin the party, not specialising in any specific function and literally relying on Luck for most of his moveset.

Yellow Megaphone

The Yellow Megaphone is one of Cait Sith’s default weapons. It comes with the Roll of the Dice ability and is evenly balanced.

Iron Megaphone

The Iron Megaphone is Cait Sith’s second default weapon. It comes with the Fortune Telling ability and is geared towards magic attack.

Red Megaphone

The Red Megaphone can be found in Gongaga Village,in a small cavern underneath the bridge. It comes with the Moogle Kaboom ability and increased strength.

Resounding Megaphone

The Resounding Megaphone can befound in the Gongaga airstrip. It comes with the Moogle Mine ability and is geared towards strength.

Crystal Megaphone

The Crystal Megaphone can befound in the Cosmo Canyon treasury. It comes with the Moogle Magic ability as well as boosted stats.

Golden Megaphone

The Golden Megaphone can be foundin Shinra Manor while playing as Cait Sith. It comes with the Moogle Knuckle ability as well as increased magic.

Gjallarhorn

The Gjallarhorn can beobtained by giving 45 tufts of Chocograss to the shop at the Chocobo Sage’s manor. It comes with the Lady Luck ability as well as increased strength.
