Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeanceshakes things up on abscesses relative to the original 2021 version of the game. Abscesses no longer keep portions of the game’s sprawling regional maps enshrouded in mystery until they’re destroyed, so they’re a good bit more optional now than they were before.
But should you ignore them? Absolutely not! Every time you seal one off, your stock of available Miracles widens over in the World of Shadows. Miracles come in many forms, plenty of which are game-changers. Since Shinjuku is brand-new to Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance, we’ve assembled this guide to help you find its abscesses.

All Shinjuku Abscess Locations
Gyoen
You’ll findGyoen’s abscess not far from the Aogami husk nearest to Shinjuku’s entry point. Notably,a group of Succubi rotates around a pillarto the southeast of this location.
Yoyogi
TheYoyogi abscess is in the very northeasternmost corner of the map, at the end of a path that will require a fair bit of climbing.
Kabukicho
Kabukichoisthe northern centralarea in Shinjuku, and it’s technically even further north than Yoyogi’s abscess.Along the middle of the western borderof the area, you’ll find this abscess.
Sendagaya
In thesoutheast corner of the map, where"The Horn of Plenty"side quest’s Chimera fight is located. This is alsoalmost due south from where you initially enter Shinjuku.
Yotsuya
FromGyoen(the first leyline you unlock), keep close to the wall as best you can whileheading northeast. It’s at ajutting-out arearoughly a third of the way to the Yoyogi abscess.
3rd Block
If this is your first time in the Shinjuku 3rd Block area, you’ll need to weave around a few city blocks northwest of the leylinebefore you can reach this, since the path is kind of tangled, andyou can’t get to it by veering southbound.
If you’ve already unlockedmultiple railways, you can simplytake the railway near the 3rd Block leyline, then take one more that follows up on it, and you’re almost there.

Near Government Building
Depending on where you are in the story, this last abscess can be either deceptively difficult to reach than theGovernment Building close to its east, or easier than getting to the Government Building itself.
This is becausethe abscess is about midway up the farthest-west zone, near the western boundary line. We were able to get here before we even figured out how to get to the Government Building.

You’ll likely need to have found numerous railways, the nearest duo of which areto the south of the abscessand visible in our screenshot.
