TheResident Evil 4 Remakeis different from the original title in several ways. One new addition is the inclusion of special Merchant requests to help out the unsettling man who sells you weapons. These are little side missions you can complete to earn some extra Spinels.
They task you with doing various different things, such asdestroying blue medallionsandacquiring shiny jewels from a nest. Three of the requests have you finding and killing rats. The missions are Pest Control, More Pest Control, and Even More Pest Control. Here is all the information you need to find the little animals and take them out.
I found it best to kill the rats using the Bolt Thrower or a knife. As it only takes one shot to kill them, there is no point wasting ammo.
Pest Control Rat Locations
There isn’t an exact spot where the rats always stand as they continually run around. So, this guide can only show you the area in which they roam. However, the areas are generally small, so it should still be enough to guide you to their locations.
The first Pest Contol mission is foundearly in chapter two. The note detailing the objective is rightbeside the first merchant stall.
However, once you get there, you’ve already gone past the rats you need to slay, sohead back into the Abandoned Factory.

The second Pest Control missiontakes place in chapters nine and ten.
You can start it once you reachthe Grand Hall,which contains the headless statue you’re trying to put together. Next to the statue, you can find a door and the More Pest Control request.
Even More Pest Control Locations
The last Pest Control missionappears in chapter 14.The request is near the Merchant, whom you reach just before you get to the Cargo depot.
However, for this one, it’s muchmore convenient to get the rats before you reach the request.After all, they’re all in the Waste Disposal area, which you must make your way through before reaching the Merchant.
It isn’t a problem to reach the request before killing the rats, as you can go back. However, it’s easier to get the rats first.
