There are dozens of caves inDragon’s Dogma 2, and many of them hold dangers and treasures alike. Finding these caves takes you off the well-traversed path, but the rewards are often worth the additional effort. However, you’d best prepare to delve into these areas, as you’re likely to run into numerous monsters.
The Waterfall Cave is one of the first caves you’ll likely come across, but the dangers within are far above the starting level. Here’s everything you need to know to prepare for this dungeon delve so that you can reap the rewards and come out in one piece.
Waterfall Cave Location
Once you reach the Borderwatch Outpost, head east across the riverand along the path. Continue until youreach a campfire. From there, take thepath up the cliffsto the top of the waterfall. Carefully treadacross the waterto reach the mouth of the cave.
you may find this cave when you first travel with Gregor to Vernworth.
Thecave has two floors, and each is filled with dangerous enemies. Inside, you’ll find the following foes:
Gorechimera Boss
In the main chamber on the first floor, you’ll comeface to face with a Gorechimera. It stands in a shallow pool of water, blocking the way upwardsto the second floor. You can either run past it (which is not recommended) or you can fight it.
If you enter this cave before completing the Feast of Deception quest, the monster in this chamber will be a regular Chimera.
The Gorechimera is difficult to kill, as the goat head will cast powerful spells and revive the other heads to restore its strength. You’ll need to target the goat head and act quickly to minimize the threat each head poses.
The snake head cannot be fully cut off, so it will remain intact throughout the fight.
Wight Boss
On the second floor, you’ll find a treasure chest surrounded by books. Opening this chest will reward you with two grimoires:Nation’s Death KnellandHowling Blizzard. However, a Wight will also appear and challenge you.
It will take a coordinated effort tokill the Wight, as they have powerful AoE attacks that can deal massive damage to your party.Using the Empyrean spellwill help, but if you don’t have a mage, then try toget your attacks in while the Wight is closeenough to the ground.
If you’relooking for Black Crystal, this is a guaranteed place to find a Wight.
