You find yourself in a hostile post-apocalyptic world inOnce Human. In a world where Stardust pollutes both land and water, you must acquire resources and equip yourself with gear that will help you survive. You must also hunt Deviations that are terrorizing the land and its inhabitants.

The odds of your survival in this horror MMORPG are dependent on your access to different resources. You’ll need clean water and nutritious food in order to keep in top shape. You’ll need a well-protected territory. You’ll also need strong equipment, and this can be crafted using resources found around you. One essential resource for building gear is Charcoal.

How To Get Charcoal

Charcoal is an essential ingredient insmelting your ores for crafting gear. This is what you’ll need if you don’t have anElectric Furnacebuilt on your territory. Thankfully,Charcoal is very easy to come by.

You will needfive logs to make a piece of Charcoal. Logs can be acquired byhitting trees or felling them.

It’s best to build your territory near, if not next to,a group of trees. You will be needing plenty of logs when youbuild structures and craft Charcoal. They grow back very quickly though, so there’s no need to wait long for mature trees to chop.

Once you have your logs, you canburn them in a Furnacein order to acquire Charcoal. The schematics for a Furnace can beunlocked in the Memetics menu.

Hit “K"and thenclick on Memetics - Cradle. Head to the Memetics menu, and thenselect the Infrastructure tab. You’ll seea branch forSmelting Essentialsin this tab. Unlock this to unlock the schematic for a Furnace.

You can unlock Memeticsusing Meme Points or Ciphers and Energy Links. You will need to level up, complete season challenges, and capture new Deviationsper season to get Ciphers.

Energy Links can be acquired bycompleting tasks and commissions. You can also get this fromclearing dungeons.

A Furnace will requireCopper OreandGravelto build. With the complete materials, you’ll be able to place one anywhere on your territory and begin crafting your Charcoal.
