Before Start Building

While deciding what to build first to maximize benefits from your initial steps in your new village is important, the most crucial aspect is understanding the region where you areand identifying the resources available to you. You can easilydo this by zooming out to check all the available resources on your land, which will give you a first idea of what to do.

Another important step before starting construction is heading to the construction section.Click on the construction button, shaped like a hammer, located at the bottom of the screen. Then, click on the “Emmer Fertility” in the Overlay to identify the most fertile areas for fields. This helps you avoid building in areas where farms could be developed in the future.

Checking the emmer fertility is crucial before building anything, especially if you have an area that lacks fertility.

Logging Camp

Before building anything else, you shouldconstruct the logging camp.It will provide you with timber, essential for constructing all buildings, and firewood, necessary to provide fuel for your villagers.

Once the logging camp is finished construction, be sure to assign a family to work there.

The Sawpit is used toturn timber into planks, which you’re able to use in the future to construct buildings that require them, such as the Manor and the Wooden Church.

Hunting Camp And Forager Hut

While the logging camp is the first important building, the second important buildings you should establish arethe Hunting Camp and Forager Hut.These will provide your village with two different types of food resources from the early months of your first year, ensuring you cansupply enough food to your villagebefore the next winter.

Woodcutter’s Lodge

Your citizens don’t just need food; they also require fuel, which is consumed by the burgage plots and workplaces. This makes it no less important than food. Having enough food and fuel in your village ensures that your villagers can meet their needs.

Fuel can be obtainedusing two resources: firewood and charcoal. However, the first thing you should consider is firewood, which you can acquire from the start. To do so, establish a Woodcutter’s Lodge.

Storehouse And Granary

While gathering food and goods, it’s important toestablish a storehouse to store non-food resources and a granary to store food. These two buildings should be upgraded as soon as you have the available resources to do so, which provides you with more space to store additional resources.

Burgage Plots

Once you start a new village, you’ll notice that you have five families, each requesting a burgage plot. However, don’t rush to build the burgage plots right away.Initially, focus on establishing all the necessary buildings to provide the villagers with their requirements for supplies.

Once you have the essentials in place, consider building six to seven burgage plots to prepare for new families to join your village. It’s wise to construct two additional burgage plots beyond your needs tofacilitate population growthonce you achieve a neutral approval rating.

Marketplace

The Marketplace doesn’t require any construction cost, allowing you toestablish it right from the start. It provides families with a space to set up stalls and distribute their produce to the Burgage Plots, helping to maintain a high approval rating.

Fields And Farmhouse

Farming is an essential way to provide any village with an additional food resource. Alongside meat from the hunting camp and berries from the Forager Hut, it’s important toensure your villagers have access to additional food resources.Once possible, establish fields and a farmhouseto ensure you can obtain wheat as soon as possible.

Manor And Church

Establishing amanor and a church helpsincrease your treasuryand influence, allowing you to collect taxes from your villagers. Additionally, you’re able to use the church to collect tithes, which helps you gain influence.Building these two structures right from the first year enables you toclaim other territoriesas soon as possible.

If you’ve established a Manor, be sure to check the approval rating before increasing taxes. If the approval rating is above 60 percent, you can increase the taxes. This ensures that you don’t lose population growth after the approval rating decreases due to taxation.
