InGhost of Tsushima, Jin uses his sword to slay the Mongols and stop the invasion led by Khotun Khan. While villagers and other companions help him throughout the journey to liberate regions from the Mongol army, Jin’s horse is one of those trusted allies that never disappoints.

The game’s open world demands exploration, and visiting every place on foot will become tedious in the long run. Jin’s horse can be called anytime during exploration, be it attacking a Mongol camp, fleeing from an overwhelming crowd, or any other tough situation. But for that, you must select a horse first.

After a brief introduction chapter, youreach a point where Jin Sakai selects a horse.

Here are the horses you will find after reaching the stableswith Yuna in the game:

If youpre-ordered the game on Steam or Epic Games Store, you will find theblack and red colored horse in the fifth slot, right after the brown colored horse when you start the game.

If youdid not pre-order the game, this horse selection onlyappears on the NG+ difficulty setting.

Once you have finalized a horse,Jin will get to decide what name to call his horse. You will have the following name presets available in the game:

Which Horse Should You Pick?

Thehorse selection has no implications over gameplay and storyas they are aesthetic selections only.

All thehorses have the same stamina, speed, galloping distance, enemy detection range,and more. Basically, there areno stats for horsesthat distinguish one horse from another.

It all boils down to the horse’s color selectionand your personal preference. Once you finalize a horse and its name,it remains with you throughout the journey.

You canneither replace your horse nor change its nameonce you have finalized.
