Find Your Own Space
The first thing you’ll want to do when you enter the world of Once Human is tolook for a good spot to settle down. You’ll need a space forstoring your items,using crafting tables, andrecovering when you’re weary.
It’s essential that youpick a location that is close enough to a variety of resourcessuch as logs and ores. You’ll be needing these in huge volumes when you startbuilding your baseandcrafting your workbenches.
The location of your territory doesn’t need to be near a teleporter becauseyou can teleport to and from your territory anytime.
It’s also good tofind a spot that’s close to a source of food. Look out for where wild deer spawn for a source of meat. you may also opt toset up a base near a fishing spotif you enjoy fishing.
Unlock Technologies Using Memetics
You canunlock different crafting recipes in the Memetics menu. This can be accessed under theMemetics - Cradle tabwhen youpress ‘K’.
This is an essential tab to check and update regularly in order togain access to new technologies. There are four fields with skill trees you can unlock:Infrastructure, Crafting, Logistics, and Building.
You’ll needMeme Points or Ciphers and Energy Linksin order tounlock the technologiesin the different trees.
Ciphers are earned byleveling up,completing season challenges, andcatching new Deviations.
Energy Links are obtained bycompleting commissions and tasks, andclearing dungeons.
There is alsoMemetic Specializationwhich allows you toselect special abilities. Every five levels earned, you mayunlock a specializationin order to give you certain buffs. This can help youbuild a character that adds unique valueto your team.
Don’t worry about making decisions when it comes to Memetics becauseyou are given the option to reset your pointsif you ever change your mind. You will need to be deliberate about it though, becauseonly 70 percent of what you spent will be refunded.
Improve Your Gear
You’ll be able to fend off the different mobs lurking around the worldusing a variety of weapons. You canget weapons that suit your playstyleand complement the rest of your squad.
You should alsomake sure you’re armored upto withstand barrages of attacks from enemies.Both weapons and armor can be crafted or foundwhile exploring.
Weapons, armor, and tools have a durability barthat reduces as you use them. You’ll need torepair themif you want to keep using them, but you’ll only be able to do so with thegear you’ve crafted yourself.

These creatures havespecial abilities that can aid you in different areasfor your survival. For instance,Combat Deviationscan bedeployed on the battlefield for attacking or defending.
Territory Deviationscan help in managing your territory bycollecting resources and speeding up machines.Gadget Deviationswillgrant you special abilitieswhen used. There are alsoFurniture Deviationsthat can beplaced on your base.
These creatures are kept inIndependent Secure Unitson your base, and there are ways tokeep them comfy to stay efficient. For instance, some Deviations prefercolored lightsand others like beingsurrounded by plants.
Use The Necessities To Stay Healthy
Apart from taking care of your Deviations and your home, you’ll also need towatch over your own body.
Over time, you’ll experiencehunger and thirst. You’ll also experienceinsanity when exposed to harsh conditions.
Keep well-stocked on food, water, and sanity pillswhen you go out exploring. These are not easy to come by for free when you’re away from your crafting and cooking stations.
When youkeep your stomach full and your thirst quenched, you’ll be able tokeep your stamina up for longerand exploration will be much easier.
While having food on-hand is essential, however, you’ll also wanta refrigerator stocked with consumables. Certain foodsexpire and turn into spoiled foodafter 24 hours.
