There are two currency types inContent Warning, video revenue and Meta Coins. Both currency types are equally important to winning the game and improving your odds of making a great video, but they don’t work the same. You need ad revenue to spend at the shop kiosk and buy items, gadgets, emotes, and healing equipment. The downside is, your ad revenue will expire between rounds.
Meta Coins, on the other hand, won’t expire between rounds and can be used to purchase permanent upgrades for yourself and your island. With Meta Coins, you can buy hats and Island Upgrades to help you get a leg up on your competition.
What Are Meta Coins?
Meta coins are apermanent, achievement-based currency that you can earn in Content Warning. Once you’ve earned Meta Coins,they won’t expire,and you will still have thesame Meta Coin value between rounds.
How To Get Meta Coins
The great part about Meta Coins is that there aretwo ways to earn them, unlike ad revenue, which you can only earn by gaining views on your videos.
The first way you can earn Meta Coins is the simplest. Every time you successfully complete a round andmove to the next mapin the lineup, you willearn 50 Meta Coins.
If you want to farm Meta Coins, tryrestarting your roundsafter you move onto the second map. Completing the first map is easiest as youonly need 3,000 viewsinstead of 38,000.
Your whole partyearns Meta Coins together, but when one person spends Meta Coins, they aren’t drawing those coins from any kind of pot. Your Meta Coins areyour ownto spend.
However, if you buy something with Meta Coins,that item is considered yoursand is not owned by your party members.Any server that you host or joinwill contain the upgrade that you bought. If your friend buys a Cinema for your island, you can only access that Cinemawhile that friend is in your party.
If you are in a partywithoutthat friend, youwon’t have accessto the Cinema. In short, your purchasedupgrades will travel with you.
What Can You Buy With Meta Coins?
There aretwo things you can buywith Meta Coins and both are on your Sky Island.
The first thing you can use your Meta Coins on ishats. Phil’s hat shop is located off theside of your Sky Islandand you can use it to buy hats. There arefive hats displayedat the hat shop each round, but theinventory and prices are randomizedbetween rounds. There areover thirty hats in totalfor you to collect.
Hats are pretty pricey, though, so you won’t be able to buy any until you’vestockpiled your Meta Coinsa little.
With asimilar price tag to hats, the second thing you may use Meta Coins on isIsland Upgrades. There arefive possible Island Upgradesto purchase and they’re all fairly expensive.
Island Upgrades areunlockable stationson your Island that you caninteract with to improve your video contentand gain more views.
BothIsland Upgrades and Hats arepermanent after purchase. You willkeep your upgrades and hatsbetween rounds.
