The Bladedancer is the Rogue’s fast-paced melee-weapon-wielding Mastery inLast Epoch. With swift movements and attacks, the Bladedancer conceals her presence before striking for massive damage against unsuspecting enemies, relying on her mobility to escape danger.
Building and playing a Bladedancer can be extremely rewarding thanks to the fast-paced, high-risk, high-reward playstyle. If you’re looking for a build to get you through the leveling process, you’ve come to the right place. Below, we’ll take a look at a Bladedancer leveling build centered around Umbral Blades and Synchronized Strike.

This build offers thequintessential Bladedancer experience. Using hidden blades, smoke bombs, and shadow clones, you will dart around the battlefield, taking down groups of enemies almost instantaneously. While this build has the potential for massive damage, you’ll also bevulnerable to attacksyourself, meaning you’ll always need toplay carefully.
The core of this build isUmbral BladesandShadow clones. With the Umbral Blades skill nodeCacophony of Steel, your Umbral Blades will becomeBladestormsthat deal continuous damage in an area.

you’re able to then pair this with theUmbral Remnantnode that makes yourShadows leave an Umbral Blade behindwhen they expire, and theUmbral Assaultnode for Smoke Bomb to create additional Shadows. What this combination of skills leads to is a wave of spinning Umbral Bladestorms covering the screen, damaging everything in their path.
This leveling build will take you from afresh character to around level 60. If you optimize your passive points, skill trees, and equipment, you canstart doing Monoliths around level 45.

Skills And Passives
Your main damaging ability for this build isUmbral Blades. This skillunlocks at level 16, so we recommend usingPuncture(unlocked at level 5) until then. When upgrading Umbral Blades, focus on getting theCacophony of Steelnode as quickly as possible. Then, put four points intoSteel Torrentand one intoLoathing. From there, unlock theUmbral Remnantnode.
Smoke Bombis an incredibly versatile skill that contributes to this build’sdamage and survivability. Here, you’ll want to prioritize upgrading theUmbral Assaultnode to its max level, then putfive points into Smoke Bladesfor tons of additional damage. TheLingering Fumesnode is also important forkeeping Smoke Bomb up longer, which in turn generates more Shadows.
Stand in Smoke Bomb’s cloud as long as possibleto stack damage from Smoke Blades.
Synchronized Strikeis another important component of the damage in this build. The important nodes to unlock first areCoordinated Cutsfor armor shred,Umbral Assassinationfor tons of added damage, andPerfect Coordinationto stack all hits of Synchronized Strike into one location, greatly increasing its damage. you may also unlock theWave of Darknessnode for even more damage withShadow Cascade.
Shadow Cascadeis mainly used as a secondary cast whencombined with Shift, and provides some nice utility. TheOnslaughtandFight in the Shadowsnodes will helpretain Mana, while putting four points intoShadow Flourishwill buff your physical damage after hitting enemies with Shadow Cascade.
Dagger Danceadds thrown daggers to Shadow Cascade, making iteasier to trigger Shadow Flourish. Additionally,Rapid Expansegreatly increases the radius of the ability, allowing it to hit more enemies at once.
Finally, we are usingShiftas ourmain mobility skill. Shift is very strong in this build thanks to theLasting PresenceandDancing Shadowsnodes, which allow you to create a shadow when you use Shift, which will then cast Shadow Cascade at the area you Shift to and from.Swift Recovery, Shadowslip, and Elusiveare all very strong defensive nodes to pick up as soon as possible.
Passive Trees
For this build, we’ll be using the bare minimum of20 points in the Rogue tree, then pouring everything else into theBladedancer tree. There are tons of good offensive, defensive, and utility passive nodes in the Bladedancer tree that we want to make the most of.
For the Rogue tree, stack up onSwift Assassin, then grab one point inGuileto unlockEvasionandAgility, two great defensive nodes that will boostdodge chanceand your ability to gainhaste. Also, be sure to getTwin Bladeto unlock dual-wielding.
In the Bladedancer tree, put points intoPursuit, andOncefor tons of additional damage. Eventually, you’ll want to put one point intoCloak of Shadowsto unlockShroud of DuskandVeil of Night, which you’ll want tomax out.
A few other important nodes to unlock areBlood Dancefor some nicehealth stealing,Flash of Steelfor increased damage whiledual-wielding daggers, andAll Infor greatlyincreased critical strike damage.
You may want to hold off on unlocking All Inuntil your critical strike chance stat is higher.
