Summary
Very fewDigimon Card Gamesets are as jam-packed as BT16: Beginning Observer. This set includes some of the most powerful cards in the game and supports fan-favorite playstyles like Armor Purge and Jogress Digivolutions. Cards like Paildramon andMagnamon(X Antibody) will please just about any Veemon stan—sorry UlforceVeedramon fans.
This set’s power level is way beyond any previous set, especially with the introduction of the first triple-colored cards, making deck building and playstyles way more flexible than ever before. Even some of the common cards pack a punch that you won’t see coming at your local game store or the next big Bandai event.

10Veemon
Another Rookie For The Arsenal
Although this Veemon card seems underwhelming at first, it is one of the key rookie-level cards for the Magnamon (X Antibody) deck. Whenever the blue Mini Dragon is out in the Battle Area, when one of your other Digimon Digivolves, you’ll gain one memory.
This effect can make your other Magnamon much cheaper while maintaining a red source for A Delicate Plan shenanigans. This card is mostly used for the Imperialdramon deck, but if it’s a Veemon, it’ll find its way into Magnamon X.

9GaoGamon
Attack Security Without Worry
MirageGaogamon is a powerful deck, but once the Banned and Restricted list was updated in January 2024, the DigiEgg card, Bukamon, was restricted to one copy, hindering the consistency of the blue wolf.
The deck can unsuspend a multitude of times with the help of its Tamer, Thomas H. Norstein, so giving every stack the Jamming keyword was a bit problematic. The keyword is now relegated to a Champion-level GaoGamon, who carries it as an inheritable, making it a bit fairer and a harder task to accomplish.

8GranKuwagamon Ace
Tamer Hate For Green Decks
Insectoid decks have had their time in the spotlight for a while, but with this Ace card, GranKuwagamon gives both green and purple decks tons of utility for even more situations.
Green decks thrive on suspending your opponent’s Digimon, and with this GranKuwagamon, you are able to lock down your opponent’s board while deleting one of their Tamers. Not only is the Ace card a great control tool, but whenever it is suspended, you can give one of your Digimon Security Attack +1, giving you the extra damage you need to close out a game.

7Paildramon
One Of The Strongest DNA Digimon
Jogress decks are always fun to play, but with a lack of protection effects, they are susceptible to most kinds of removal, leaving your Battle Area wide open for any of your opponent’s attacks. With this Paildramon and the Partition keyword, you’re able to make sure your stack will linger until the next turn. Paildramon also powercreeps theStarter DeckPaildramon a bit, since it can still unsuspend when attacking as long as you have a target Digimon on the opposing side that you can suspend.
6Valkyrimon Ace
Huge Boon For Yellow Decks
Ace cards can be a double-edged sword. They come packed with powerful effects, and you can cheat their Digivolution costs by Blast Digivolving, but they also carry the Overflow mechanic, meaning they will grant the opposing player a huge amount of memory if they can remove it from the Battle Area.
Valkyrimon Ace is no different. Its ability to minus DP is some of the best removal in the game and it can pack a punch with its extra Security Attack whenever you remove a security card from the stack.

5Dinobeemon
The Underrated Stingmon and ExVeemon Jogress
Red Purple Imperialdramon was not able to make any huge waves when it was introduced in EX3, but with this card, it can reach new levels of success. Dinobeemon can play a Free-trait Digimon from the trash and give it the Rush keyword, powering up your offense.
Dinobeemon is an excellent Jogress for your arsenal and can even work great in the top-tier Loogamon deck. The wolf-based deck revolves around playing red and purple level four Digimon from the trash, making the Partition effect even better for its board spam.

Dinobeemon can play a Free-trait Digimon from the trash, and even though Loogamon doesn’t play many Free Digimon, Ukkomon is a Free Digimon.
4TyrantKabuterimon
Try To Get Over The Wall Of Bugs
There is always a way to interact with your opponent’s Digimon stacks, but TyrantKabuterimon ignores all of that by having an omni-protection effect from all Digimon effects. It comes with a steep cost of six to Digivolve, but once it hits the Battle Area, this bug can be quite sticky.
TyrantKabuterimon can play an extra Insectoid Digimon whenever it Digivolves and bottom-deck one of your opponent’s Digimon with equal DP to the Digimon you played. This effect, paired with BT16’s GranKuwagamon Ace, can be a deadly combo.

3Rapidmon (X Antibody)
Double Armor Purge For Terriermon
One of the two Secret Rares in Beginning Observer, Rapidmon (X Antibody), is here to push the Double Typhoon Starter Deck into the stratosphere. Before this card, the deck relied on MegaGargomon Ace as its only boss Digimon. While the card is good, the overflow mechanic is easy to manipulate.
This card can put up a huge defensive wall with plenty of DP minus effects alongside memory gain to steal back your turn if need be. With Rapidmon X, the deck now has a consistent boss that can Digivolve from a level four directly into the holy warrior with ease.

2Ukkomon
The Best Rookie In The Game
If you watched the Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning movie in theaters, you’ll know that Ukkomon is a thing of nightmares. This card holds true to its reputation. As a white card, it can Digivolve onto any colored DigiEgg, albeit for one memory.
The biggest boon that you’ll receive from Ukkomon is that as soon as a Digimon is moved from the Breeding to the Battle Area, you’ll get to look at the top three cards of your deck for a Digimon or Tamer. Any deck that can flex a Rookie or two will want to play this card.

1Magnamon (X Antibody)
The Boogeyman Card Itself
There is a reason whythis card is so expensive, even at base rarity. Magnamon X is the first triple-colored card in the Digimon Card Game and it makes its presence known by an incredible effect.
This card is a Blocker, has Armor Purge, and has an effect to boost its DP, along with being unaffected by effects until the end of your opponent’s turn. No, not just Digimon, all effects. Combined with cards like Blinding Ray to proc Magnamon’s effect every turn, this is a difficult card to overcome.
