Summary

The world ofResident Evilshowcases the extent of biological weaponry. What happens when viruses are created that genetically modify their hosts into undead creatures, bloodthirsty beasts, and hideous abominations that tower over the average human being?

Resident Evil has shown a variety of viruses throughout its history. Some are intended to grant immortality, while others are meant to create the perfect weapons for the Military. However, which mutations pose the most threat, and which ones would be the hardest to deal with? From zombies to werewolves, these are the ten most dangerous mutations in the Resident Evil franchise.

10Crimson Heads

Double Tap

While not the strongest mutations, Crimson Heads werethe most dangerous zombiesin Resident Evil. This variation of zombie was born if the bodies were not dealt with accordingly. After a while, a regular zombie could suddenly get back up again as a Crimson Head.

Crimson Heads are faster than average. This makes landing a headshot difficult. With many tight corners in the Arklay Mountain Facility, Crimson Heads have a tactical advantage, forcing players to confront them instead of simply running past them.

9Lickers

Fastest And Deadliest Zombies

Lickers are some of the most agile creatures to spawn from the T-Virus. Their long spearlike tongues can kill and infect people from a distance while their hardened bodies protect them from damage. This can make them particularly deadly if the player does not have strong enough weapons.

Lickers always provide a challenge in whatever game they are featured in. They force players to think twice before running across the halls without checking corners. An encounter with a Licker often results in death unless a survivor remains completely silent.

8The C Virus

Most Unstable Virus

The C Virus featured in Resident Evil 6 was one of the more volatile viruses in the franchise. Due to its instability, it affects everyone differently as it mutates them into abominations that completely erase the humanity of their hosts.

C Virus Mutations range from winged beasts that can attack from the sky to heavily armored zombie creatures. Some C Virus mutations are even capable of using weapons and attacking in formation. This makes all the mutations equally dangerous in different ways.

7Uroboros

Only The Strongest Survive

The Uroboros Virus was the result of the T Veronica Virus mixing with the parasite known as Las Plagas. Together they form a brand-new virus capable of wiping out the entire planet. Uroboros would result in a variety of different mutations.

These include the deadly Reapers that resembled African Roaches and the failed human test subjects that failed to bond with the virus. One example of this is Excella Gionne who is given the Uroboros Virus only for it to reject her and transform her body into the specimen, Uroboros Aheri.

6Regenerators

Scariest Resident Evil Enemy

The Regenerators in Resident Evil 4 are some of the most terrifying creatures to be created using Las Plagas. With multiple parasites attached to its body, it quickly became one of the more powerful beings to spawn from experimentation.

Regenerators are nearly invincible, with bullets doing very little to stop them from approaching you. Your only hope is to use thermal sensors to detect the parasites within and destroy them with precision. Otherwise, Regenerators will just keep coming back, even when split in half.

5Tyrant

The Ultimate Life Form

The Tyrant Program was designed to create a superhuman mutant capable of fighting wars. Whilemultiple Tyrant mutants have been featuredin the franchise, the two most notable are the prototype in the Arklay Mansion Facility and the Tyrant that followed Leon and Clair in Raccoon City.

Tyrants are physically durable, with the strength to tear apart any human they come across. Only the strongest explosive weapons have a chance to deal with them quickly. Their only other weakness is a lack of higher cognitive function or ability to use tools.

4Nemesis

Strongest Seeker Enemy

The Nemesis program created a far more powerful mutation than the Tyrant. This was the Nemesis. While multiple Nemesis were created, only one was deployed into combat during the Raccoon City outbreak. Nemesis was programmed to track and eliminate S.T.A.R.S members.

In some accounts, it even eliminated multiple officers before encountering Jill Valentine. Nemesis has heightened cognitive abilities, allowing it to use man-made weapons such as rocket launchers. It even has tendrils that can easily assimilate anyone unfortunate enough to be caught in them.

3Heisenberg

The Cadou Evolves

Heisenberg is one of the most unique characters in the entire Resident Evil franchise. While many mutations manifest themselves as physical alterations, Heisenberg was granted abilities that almost seemed supernatural.

Heisenberg is shown to be able to control metal objects. This includes using them to subdue Ethan or flinging them as projectile weapons. He can even bond with machines, making them a part of his body. These powerful offensive abilities and the retention of his human ambitions make him one of the most dangerous mutations in the Resident Evil franchise.

Resident Evil 2: The Final Transformed Boss Fight With William Birkin

2William Birkin

G Virus Abomination

With William Birkin secretly planning to sell the G Virus to the Military in exchange for asylum for him and his family, Umbrella took action. Unfortunately, this mission to retrieve the samples resulted in Birkin mutating his own body to prevent the theft of his work.

Birkin became a monster capable of taking on multiple operatives. Strong enough to break down walls and mutate into even larger creatures, Birkin was constantly evolving until he was destroyed byLeon and Claire.

1Albert Wesker

Master Of The T Virus

Albert Wesker proves that not all mutations will result in catastrophe. After being outed as a traitor to S.T.A.R.S. at the Arklay Mountain Facility, Wesker was seemingly killed by the Tyrant. However, Wesker secretly injected himself with a prototype virus that bonded with his DNA.

This exposure to the virus gave Wesker inhuman strength, increased speed, and regenerative abilities that healed him from most damage. This mutation is one of the few times a virus has successfully granted positive results.
