Summary

In a galaxy far, far away, the Force binds every living thing. Some beings are born Force-sensitive and can learn a wide variety of abilities. These abilities include healing, creating illusions, or even using devastating attacks.

InStar Wars, some users focus on becoming closer to the Force while others seek to use it to gain power. These factions have led to force users creating their own sects, including The Jedi Order, The Sith, and even gray factions in between. Each sect has its own set of preferred abilities. These are the most powerful force powers you can have in Star Wars.

Starkiller using Force Pull to bring a Star Destroyer to the ground

10Force Pull

Simple But Devastating

Force Pull may seem like a simple ability, but it is both practical and powerful in the right hands. Force Pull is known to be used by countless Jedi to bring their lightsabers closer or disarm enemies in a pinch.

The most powerful force users can take the ability even further. In Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Starkiller is able to use this ability to pull in larger objects than usual. At his peak, he could even bring down an entire Star Destroyer by pulling it down from orbit.

9Force Push

Quick And Practical

Force Push is another simple ability with plenty of uses. In battle, pushing your opponent to the ground can be enough to give a force user a chance to strike. Against droids, pushing can have enough force to completely destroy their circuits, leaving them broken.

Those powerful in the Force can push multiple targets at once, making it easy to clear an area. In games, Force Push can be used to send enemies off the edge and make life just a bit easier. Force Push is available in almostevery Star Wars game.

8Force Choke

The Power To Kill Remotely

Force Choke is a powerful ability used countless times bythe tyrannical Sith, Darth Vader. Fueled by anger and hate, Force Choke can easily bring even the most powerful beings down to their knees.

In the original trilogy, the ability to choke is not bound by proximity. It even works as a long-range attack that can be used through video calls. This allowed Vader to choke people who weren’t even in the room. So don’t get on his bad side.

Rey Heals Kylo Ren from a fatal stabbing.

7Force Heal

No Injury Too Small

The ability to heal injuries using the Force has been seen in Star Wars video games, series, and the sequel trilogy. However, using the ability might be slightly more intricate than it initially appears.

Force users can heal injuries by transferring their own essence, meaning that they will need to take a long break and recover afterwards. Force healing was featured in Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker as one of the abilities that manifests within Rey. She uses it to heal Kylo Ren from a fatal lightsaber stab.

6Force Lightning

Unlimited Power!

The ability to shoot lighting out of your fingertips is a power used almost exclusively by the Dark Side. It is described as the most physical manifestation of the Force that can be used, and it destroys enemies and ships with ease.

While the most iconic use of Force Lightning takes place when The Emperor tortures Luke, other characters such as Count Dooku and Snoke can also use the ability. The taboo ability is also used by characters such as Rey in the films and Yoda in the comics.

5Force Sense

A Disturbance In The Force

The Force can be used in more ways than to attack. It can also be used as a passive ability that lets the user know when danger is right around the corner. It can also detect changes in those around you.

In Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, Yoda can feel the effects of Order 66 in time to avoid his own execution. Meanwhile, in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Ahsoka can sense that something terrible is happening to Anakin despite being far away from the action.

4Force Life Creation

Have You Heard The Tale?

One of the most powerful yet secretive Force abilities is the power to create life. Darth Plagueis delved deeper into the Dark Side of the Force to uncover the secret of immortality. In his quest, he learned the ability to manipulate the midi-chlorians and create new life.

This power resulted in Anakin’s conception on Tatooine, the Skywalker bloodline becoming powerful in the ways of the Force, and Anakin being viewed as the chosen one from a Jedi prophesy.

3Force Projection

Is It The Real Luke?

Holographic projections are not out of the ordinary in the world of Star Wars. Force Projection, however, allows the user to create a copy of themselves in another location, including the ability to physically interact. This process is capable of killing the user, due to its heavy use of life essence.

In Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Luke Skywalker uses this ability to project an image of himself across the galaxy to assist the resistance. He duels Kylo Ren during the battle of Crait, buying Rey time to get her allies to safety.

Qui-Gon Jinn uses a Jedi mind trick on Watto in Star Wars The Phantom Menace

2Mind Trick

Credits Will Do Fine

These are not the droids you are looking for. Those words were spoken during the first use of the Jedi Mind Trick. This ability allows the Jedi to trick susceptible beings into doing things they normally wouldn’t. This includes looking the other way or rethinking their entire lives.

Mind Tricks don’t always work, as some beings like Watto and Jabba the Hutt are unaffected by them. Generally, it is the weak-minded who can be controlled, though a person could be trained to resist it with enough instruction.

Force Ghosts as seen in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi

1Force Spirit

Death Is Not The End

The ultimate Force ability comes after the death of a powerful Force user. In Star Wars, all living things return to the Force after dying. However, if trained properly, a Sith or a Jedi could preserve their unique identity rather than let it vanish.

This technique leaves an imprint in the physical realm, allowing the user toremain as a Force Ghostlong after their death. Jedi such as Yoda and Obi-Wan are known to have become Force Ghosts and aided Luke during the conflict with the Empire.
