Summary
It’s hard enough to deal with tadpoles in your brain, but the lands of Faerun seem to have horrors and challenges at every turn. Witnessing inexplicable terrors seems to be normal in the daily agenda of your party.
It can’t all be bad news, though! Sure, there are plenty of foes in the way, and the Dark Urge carries inner demons that feel even more threatening than the imps on your trail. Yet throughout all this madness, there are some moments of reprieve if you seek them out. Here are some wholesome things you can do if you need something a little more heartwarming inBaldur’s Gate 3.

Although this article does not dive into major plot points, it still covers quests and activities that can tie into narrative arcs, depending on your choices. Read on with care!
Where To Do This
Carm’s Garm, Wyrm’s Crossing
While most people would ignore or even attempt to harm Naaber, you might find it in your heart to just hang out with the man. He is relentless, optimistic, and endlessly indecisive. His most annoying qualities also turn out to be his most endearing ones, and he’ll eventually leave you alone if you humor him enough.
Fans of the Baldur’s Gate series may feel some deja vu. Noober, Nuber, and Neeber grated past heroes, and Naaber now proves to be as exasperating as his predecessors. Instead of attacking the latest in a long line of excitable conversationalists, you could be nice about it, help him find his calling, and get an adoring fan with a special pendant to gift you.

Bonecloak Apothecary, Lower City
You may first meet Derryth Bonecloak in the Underdark, where she is looking for her missing husband and some Noblestalk mushrooms. There is more than one way to conclude this quest, with each potential outcome rife with its own complications and ethical dilemmas. Life isn’t so simple in Baldur’s Gate.
In the event of an unfortunate Bibberbang accident, you’ll eventually meet Derryth again, running Bonecloak’s Apothecary alone. She’ll be unmistakably forlorn thinking about what could have been. As it turns out, the city has many stray cats that are open to a home away from the streets. You can convince one to stay with her, and it feels like a nice win for everyone.

There are three stray cats in the Lower City that you can direct to Derryth. Myshka walks around just outside the apothecary, looking for his “mermer.” Malta stays by the Central Watch Tower, sizing up heroes. Barsik spreads Sharess’ word outside Sorcerous Sundries. It’s up to you who you think ought to make their home with the dwarf.
Cliffside between Emerald Grove and Sacred Pools

While most of the issues here are matters of life and death, there is one conundrum that deals with lyricism and squirrel hecklers. Before resolving the Grove conflict, you may head up a peak beyond the Druid’s circle surrounding their Idol.
Here, you’ll find Alfira struggling to finish a song. You can actually join the animals in heckling her or urge her to drop the bard work and pick up a weapon. But why not help her complete the song? You get to pay homage to her fallen teacher, possibly get a free lute, and enjoy a quick jam session that your party deserves.

Cliffside Grave between the Sussur Tree and Arcane Tower, Underdark
The Underdark houses many secrets, and some tales leave your eyes mistier than your steps. Overlooking a lake past the Arcane Tower, you will find a tombstone for Myrna. Resist the temptation to dig it up, and you’ll be able to place Autumncrocous flowers over the grave.

Myrna was a loyal and joyful dog who belonged to Lenore, owner of the Arcane Tower. She loved playing in the lake and rolling around in Autumncrocus, all while steadfastly remaining by her master’s side. Sadly, Lenore’s fate is left grim and uncertain, leaving Myrna’s grave untended. Pay respects and leave her favorite flowers, if only to bring some light into the dark corners beneath the earth.
Heapside Strand, Lower City
The Grove is temporarily home to a ragtag troupe of Tiefling kids, all displaced by the horrors of war and interplanar affairs. Silfy is shy, unsure, and nervous - a stark contrast to her confident older brother, Mattis. They do try to scam you at one point, but you’re able to’t help but feel for their plight.
Should the Tieflings make it to Baldur’s Gate, you can find Silfy working as a newspaper hawker in the Lower City. It’s honest work but also requires the anxious child to speak up and face strangers who aren’t always the kindest to her race. At this point, you’ll likely be swimming in coins, so you might as well buy a piece of paper from her and get the ball rolling.

Rivington
Yenna is a young girl who lives in Rivington with her mother and pet cat, Grub. Sadly, her mom has gone missing and is most likely deceased. Food and money aside, you’re able to let her and her bashful feline friend stay at your camp. She has her own paring knife and can make hearty soups for the party!
Yenna can get bugged a lot, trapping her into a perpetual cycle of planning to make soup for everyone and never actually doing it. There is no confirmed solution to fix this bug, particularly because there is no clear indicator of what is triggering it yet. But hey, at least she’ll bug out with the protection of Faerun’s most wanted.

Cultists are on the loose, crime is on the rise, and corruption is running rampant - you can make a real difference for the young pair. Not that you aren’t already taking on the huge weight of destroying the Absolute and all.
Elfsong Tavern, Lower City
You deserve a drink in hand and a few laughs. You may even want to try your hand at causing a Laff Riot. Within the Elfsong Tavern, you may embark on a duel of wits to beat the resident comedian at making everyone cackle. Drunks of different backgrounds can be the best or worst crowd, but it’s a fun little side adventure to take anyway.
From punting goblins to punning it up at a tavern, it’s nice to have a little levity with some randos who aren’t trying to murder you or steal your stuff.

Circus Of The Last Days, Rivington
Tadpoles in your brain, love in the air - what a wonderful time to visit the circus! Here, you and your romanced companion can visit the dryad Zethino. She will offer a Trial of Love that you can take to see if you and your lover are actually compatible. It’s a nice and soft little moment, provided that you actually answer each question correctly.
Taking the testraises your approval with your companionin a charming way. Granted, there is a random chance that Zethino turns out to be hiding more under the surface. It’s the luck of the draw unless you’ve already managed to get three encounters with a certain psychopathic shapeshifter.
Hatchery, Creche Y’llek
Inside the Githyanki Creche, you can find a lone egg that has yet to hatch. The hatchery’s keeper is in the unenviable position of having to kill it as it is perceived as a failure. Thankfully, you can convince him to put the egg in your care. Despite Lae’zel’s disinterest in becoming a mother, she will happily take the egg for the duration of your adventure.
While it’s possible to give away the egg to others who seek to raise it, keeping it with the party is a better solution that doesn’t involve a cruel experimental upbringing! Little Xan will hatch eventually and be free to forge his own path.
Graveyard, Lower City
To bury one’s child is to know a deep grief that is unimaginable. For Elias and Anita Fischer, the salt in the wound is that they literally can’t even bury their child. This is because the Lower City Mortuary is already backlogged with endless funerals and coffin orders due to the recent rise in deaths across the city.
you may help give this couple closure by providing what they need. Just persuade or pay off Ulkov Sully to make a coffin for their little one. It may be a small grace, but at least she can rest properly this way. In a game with potentiallymany dark moments, this is certainly the only wholesome method of sending someone to their grave.
