ThePokemon TCGfeatures distinct themes in each generation or era of cards, and Sun & Moon’s Tag Team theme takes that to heart. Throughout thePokemon TCG’s Sun & Moon sets, like Unified Minds,Trainers and Pokemon team up to form duos (and sometimes even trios) with dynamic and vibrant artwork.

Sun & Moon gave us the iconic Latias & Latios GX Tag Team, with a cast of other popular Pokemon appearing in Unified Minds. From Mewtwo & Mew to Slowpoke & Psyduck, some of the most valuable cards in Unified Minds feature sets of Pokemon that complement each other perfectly.

Updated June 12, 2025, by Andrew Scariati:With the Pokemon TCG booming thanks to blockbuster sets like Prismatic Evolutions, we have to take a look back at Sun & Moon to see how the landscape is changing. Unified Minds is one of the best sets of the Sun & Moon generation, and featuresvaluable Tag Team cardsthat have risen in price.

The Unified Minds Rowlet&Alolan Exeggutor from the Pokemon TCG.

12Umbreon & Darkrai GX (Ultra Rare) – $41.57

A Rising Dark-Type Duo

Umbreon frequently captures the hearts and wallets of collectors as one of the top cards in most sets it appears. If you’ve been pining for an affordable Umbreon chase card, then this dynamic duo it forms with Darkrai is an excellent option. At just over $40, this Tag Team duo fits together nicely and boasts a nice background that helps them to stand out.

While Darkrai and Umbreon encroach on each other’s space a bit, their upward glances put the focus on their different eye colors, helping to bring the bigger picture into focus. This card climbed in late 2024 and into 2025, setting highs it hasn’t hit in years.

The Unified Minds Mewtwo&Mew GX from the Pokemon TCG.

11Rowlet & Alolan Exeggutor GX (Alternate Full Art) – $53.31

A Perfect Pair In Paradise

This might be one of the cutest pairings in any Sun & Moon set, asRowlet and Alolan Exeggutor are physical opposites, but share some common themes. These two Pokemon are both native to Alola and share Grass as a common type, but you’ll rarely see them playing together outside of scenes like this.

In case you missed it, the Rowlet is peeking its head out from behind the Alolan Exeggutor on the right (below the Exeggutor heads).

The Raichu & Alolan Raichu GX Secret Rare from the Pokemon TCG.

While this card’s value has tumbled from over $60, it has started to regain some value and seems poised to trend back to its former value over time.

10Mewtwo & Mew GX (Full Art) – $53.89

Kanto’s Iconic Pink & Purple Duo

This dynamic Kantonian duo makestheir first of two appearancesamong the most expensive Unified Minds cards. While this artwork feels dominated by Mewtwo’s primary purple color, the second version features a more fairly distributed color palette.

If you don’t mind the background favoring Mewtwo, then this card’s art is worth picking up, especially considering what the other version costs in comparison.

The Unified Minds Garchomp&Giratina GX Secret Rare from the Pokemon TCG.

9Raichu & Alolan Raichu GX (Secret) – $55.02

All Smiles In The Sun

Raichu and Alolan Raichu appear on multiple top cards in Unified Minds, with their alt art version still to come standing out as one of the most beautiful cards in the set. If you crave simplistic scenes with rainbow tints, then this secret rare is a premier option for you with these adorable Electric mice completing the perfect scene.

While this card’s upward trend has been more gradual than the sudden spike many other cards experienced in 2024, it still claims a place among the most valuable Unified Minds chase cards. Sometimes, a cute design with a rainbow overcoat is all a card needs to make an entrance.

The Unified Minds Slowpoke&Psyduck from the Pokemon TCG.

8Garchomp & Giratina GX (Secret) – $59.10

A Carefree Vibe For Fierce Friends

While this pairing gives off very serious vibes, theirRainbow Secret Rare re-coloring completely changes the toneof this fantastic Tag Team.

Unlike some of the most expensive Unified Minds cards on this list, this card has seen a jump in value, rising from $38 to almost $60, whereas many cards on this list have had to weather a decrease to maintain their placement. While it’s unlikely to break into the top three, this card could move up the list in the future.

The Unified Minds Dragonite GX Secret Rare from the Pokemon TCG.

7Slowpoke & Psyduck GX (Secret) – $74.88

Why Do They Have The Same Eyes?

Kanto’s goofiest duo bursts brightly with colorand enough value to make it onto this list twice, with another version taking a higher place. Their eerily similar eyes aside, these two Water-type Pokemon are unusual instances of pre-evolved forms that are more popular than their stronger evolved forms.

This card demonstrates steady value, as it hasn’t charted below $40 for a while, showing signs that it may keep slowly climbing toward the $50 mark. While the future(and the Pokemon card market) are never certain, this card will always be able to bring a smile to your face.

The Slowpoke & Psyduck GX from Unified Minds in in the Pokemon TCG.

6Dragonite GX (Secret) – $87.66

A Gorgeous Glimmering Rainbow Dragon

This pseudo-legendary dragonis the lone solo Pokemon appearanceamong the most valuable cards in Unified Minds. If anyone could do it, it’s unsurprising one of the original 151 could manage to command a high price in a set themed after Alola.

There’s only one other card (a Trainer) that doesn’t feature two partners on it among the most expensive cards in Unified Minds.

The Unified Minds Mega Sableye&Tyranitar GX alternate art from the Pokemon TCG.

Dragonite is a prime Pokemon that pulls off the Rainbow Secret Rare pattern, and this artwork puts all the focus on this cute dragon’s simple design.

5Slowpoke & Psyduck GX (Alternate Full Art) – $126.45

The Shellder Mishap

Speaking of cute and simple, Slowpoke & Psyduck are two innocent Pokemon just trying to live a quiet life, but it all goes wrong when Shellder clamps down on the wrong tail. This card tells a storyabout how Shellder sent Psyduck into a panic, bringing life to this hysterical moment.

While Psyduck’s distress has become something of a running gag in Pokemon, Slowpoke’s blank stare brings even more humor to this moment. However, this card’s value is no joke, as it continues to risefrom its previous $80 mark into the triple digits.

The Unified Minds Raichu&Alolan Raichu from the Pokemon TCG.

4Mega Sableye & Tyranitar GX (Alternate Full Art) – $147.93

The Rulers Of The Dark Rise

These Dark-type Pokemon are depicted amid an evil scheme (or triumph), as they celebrate the fruits of their nefarious plans. Tyranitar’s popularity alone is enough totop the charts in sets like Battle Styles, it shares the limelight here with a Mega Sableye.

This card has sunk far from its former $170 valuation which would’ve put it among the top two cards in this set. Maybe these two Pokemon have an evil plan to get back to the upper echelon soon, but for now, that dream will have to wait.

3Raichu & Alolan Raichu GX (Alternate Full Art) – $153.16

A Complex Raichu Moment

Raichu rarely gets much attention as the evolved form of Pikachu – it might be one of the few Pokemon that seems strange to evolve, given Pikachu’s popularity in the games and equally high TCG values. However, the artwork on this card portraysone of the Sun & Moon’s best scenes, with rich colors and detailsthat bring this card to life.

These Raichu friends are another example of a card that saw its peak hit $190 but tumbled down to the $130 range. Every card has ups and downs, and this Raichu card is beginning to find stability.
