Summary
Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandorahas 24 different pieces of gear you’re able to unlock throughout the game, but the stat differences between all the armor pieces are so vast that it’s difficult to keep track of which pieces are best for you to equip.
When it comes to protection from the hostile creatures in the forests of Pandora, there’s nothing better than the gear you can either gain as a reward or craft yourself. The best gear is situational, depending on whether you want to be stealthy or just charge straight into battle. For most combat situations, this armor has you covered!

10Vu’an’s Sleeve
This arm-or (get it?) is valuable, especially for your adventures in and around the Hometree. Vu’an gives you the recipe to craft it and the armguard itself when you return to the Hometree after completing the side questGatherer Gone.
This armguard adds anywhere from 38 to 161 health to your total, depending on your level. This is a simple design, and it’s easy enough to find, since Vu’an gives you a free one after you save her from the Viperwolves. But just in case it breaks, it’s helpful to have the recipe too.

9Koranu’s Shawl
This piece of gear is a chestguard, and a rather stylish one at that. You can learn its recipe while you’re being given a tour of the Aranahe Hometree, once you meet the weaver Koranu in the Weaver’s Den.CraftingKoranu’s Shawl is an aspect of the game you discover while on your way to this Hometree, and it comes in handy later in the game once you’ve gained some favor with the clans.
It also adds to your health range, giving your total health a flexibility of 27-178. The fact that this recipe comes from a weaver just makes it all the more fashionable and battle practical.

8Rajinder’s Defense Vest
On your journey through Pandora, you’ll battle many RDA soldiers, so it helps to attempt to blend in (barring your blue skin, of course). This tactical military vest can be found once you speak to Rajinder in the Clouded Forest’s Resistance HQ. The resistance to ranged attacks is especially helpful against the RDA and their guns.
It adds a range of 27-178 health to your existing health pool, the same range as most of the other chestguards in the game, but like the rest of these gear pieces, they can be enhanced by using higher quality and rarer ingredients to craft them. How you proceed in the HQ is up to you, but with Rajinder’s help, you’ll feel more prepared for the journey.

7Rajinder’s Headband
Speaking of Rajinder, this headband armor recipe is yet another way this human manages to help you on your quest for liberation, something he, as a resistance fighter, is very familiar with. The extra fire damage with any firearm can be invaluable to you if your combat preference is to shoot first and ask questions later.
This recipe requires:
Equipping this headband gives you a health range of 113-215, creeping up to the health maximum much like you’re creeping up to the ending of the game by reaching this fashion forward designer and the Resistance HQ.
6Rajinder’s Ankle Guards
Any Raj fans out there can thank the game devs for making him so useful to your gear progression! The ankle guards, obtained right after the other gear at the Clouded Forest HQ (if you’re proactive in getting your materials), add anywhere from 100 to 227 health to your total.
This ranged attack resistance is again helpful when you’re traveling with your banshee or in a highly militarized area where bullets could come from anywhere. From the look of these guards, they basically only guard your ankles, but to move quickly and nimbly through the forest, shoes would just slow you down!

5Uniluk’s Ankle Guards
These ankle guards look like they would cover far more of your ankles, which means they’re even more Achilles-proof than normal ankle guards. you may find the recipe for these ankle guards by talking to Uniluk in Clouded Forest’s Hollow.
This piece of gear expands your health range to anywhere between 118-227 health, and it also requires Crimson Bark, as well as a Snakewood Cone, which you can find from the Snakewood trees around the Grasping Mountain, which is in the east of the Clouded Forest. Not too complicated, and worth the trek.

4Uniluk’s Cape
This chestguard is as elegant as it sounds, but with a stealth bonus, you won’t be noticed very easily. This is another recipe you may get simply by speaking to Uniluk and trading with him in the Hollow.
Uniluk’s Cape gives you anywhere between 81 and 244 health, and the materials needed to craft it are simple to get and all in the area. This is one of the few armor pieces obtained in the game that upgradesyour stealth stats, and while you can use your skill trees to help fly under the radar, it doesn’t hurt to have extra assurance in your armor stats.

3Uniluk’s Cuff
Sometimes, all the best things are in one place. That’s certainly true for Uniluk’s gear; this woodshaper makes sure you have everything you need. It’s his passion to help his people, after all, no matter what tribe they come from. If you want the extra damage, you can get the recipe for Uniluk’s Cuff easier than most, just requiring any tooth, Cloud Pine Bark, and Heavy Hide.
You get anywhere from 87-256 healthwith this piece of gear, which can be helpful when you’re progressing past the Hollow for the main story. Uniluk is your ticket to stronger gear, especially when it comes to strong gear with style.

2Gatherer Armguard
This armguard has a little bit more of a combative advantage over the other armguards in the game. While it only adds 53-121 health, it has its own effect that you may take advantage of, called Payback. This effect lets you deal 20 percent more damage for 20 seconds after you break any hostile enemy’s line of sight for at least 5 seconds.
You can find this recipe by contributing to 3 Community Baskets in any of the Aranahe Camps, which will then complete the quest Aranahe Community Contributions - Part 1 and unlock the crafting recipe. It will also give you the Gatherer Armguard itself, but in the event that you need a replacement armguard, your Na’vi sensewill help you find your way to the materials.

1Mask Maker Waistcloth
This is the best waistcloth in the game, but being the only piece of gear with a healing buff makes it the best item in the game, too. It gives you anywhere from 81-to 256 health, on top of reducing the energy cost of your health regeneration.
You regenerate your health gradually over time, but only when your energy bar is full. Otherwise, youneed to eatto restore it, and you might find yourself in a sticky situation if you encounter an enemy before you have the chance to heal. With this waistcloth, you’ll be able to regenerate health faster over time, especially when you spend a lot less energy doing it!
