As a farmer inStardew Valley, you can make a lot of money. Especially once you’re able to start selling artisan goods like wine and cheese. Some players devote their entire save files to making as much money as they can as quickly as humanly possible.

But the game doesn’t explain how you’re able to make so much money in a small economic space like Pelican Town. Sure, maybe people from other places are buying up your goods. But who in the village is supporting your farm the most? This list will explore that question and see who your biggest supporter is.

This list is ranked based on how much an NPC would purchase from you, or how much they would help your farmer and their business.

10Linus

Now it doesn’t seem likeLinusbuys much, preferring to live off the land. But he does support your farmer in another key way.

When you’re out beyond 2 am and pass out, it’s often Linus who finds you and brings you back home. Some speculate that he takes money from you, but others think that with all the magical things going on around the valley, he saves you without taking anything for himself.

9Harvey

On the note of saving you,Harvey takes care of yousimilarly to Linus. He is a doctor after all, so it should go without saying.

When you drop to one HP in The Mines or anywhere else, you wake up in Harvey’s office, still close to death, but “patched up” and out of harm’s way. So he supports your business by keeping you alive to run it.

Stardew Valley Clint over blurred background

8Clint

The fandom has some less-than-kind feelings towardClint. But at the end of the day, without his services, things would be a lot tougher around the farm.

Clint’s upgrades to your tools make every aspect of running your farm easier. From watering your crops faster and with fewer refills, to being able to chop down those big logs and stumps on your land, the Blacksmith deserves some credit.

Willy surrounded by some of the most expensive fish in the game

7Willy

Willyis a homie from the first time you meet him. As soon as he reopens his shop on the second day of Spring in your first year, he just gives you a fishing rod for the good of the sport, or art of fishing, whatever you want to call it.

This gives you a step up in the early days as fish can be sold for relatively high prices when you aren’t making any money from your crops yet. And who knows? Maybe he buys a lot of the fish you sell.

6Demetrius

Demetriusdoesn’t rush in to help you right away like Willy does, but he is still very interested in your farm and learning from it.

Once you make a total of 25,000 gold, he will approach you and ask you to fill the cave on your farm with either fruit bats or mushrooms. While he conducts his research, you get to pick up whatever fruit or mushrooms appear in the cave and sell them or turn them into artisan goods.

Stardew Valley The Wizard Over Blurred Background

5The Wizard

You quickly become associated with TheWizardwhen he invites you over to expand your mind so that you can understand the Junimos. Not only does that unlock a huge part of the game, the Community Center, but he also does more to help out.

Once you’ve completed the Community Center and a couple of other quests for him, The Wizard can instantly create several buildings on your land, including the Golden Clock and the Junimo Huts.

Stardew Valley portrait (left) and sprite (right) of the character Marnie

This list doesn’t include Morris or the Joja Route. He changes a lot around the Valley but very little for your farm.

4Marnie

It’s been a real sausage fest until now, but it’s only because some of the women of the village impact your farm in much more direct ways, like selling you coop and barn animals. There would be very few artisan goods if it wasn’t forMarnie.

The Stardew fandom can hate on Marnie all they want for her not being open as often as they’d like, but if it weren’t for her, there’d be a lot less eggs, milk, and truffles that allow your farm to thrive.

Stardew Valley portrait (left) and game sprite (right) of the character Gus

3Gus

Gusdoesn’t support your farm directly by selling your livestock or bringing you back to health. However, in the background of the game, he has to be buying the bulk of your food.

Vegetables, fruits, anything he can use for cooking, and of course, he teaches yousome helpful recipestoo. It’s a healthy give-and-take relationship that aids you both.

Stardew Valley portrait (left) and game sprite (right) of the character Robin

2Robin

Robinis responsible for building just about everything on your farm. Oh, do you need a new coop? She’s got you. Need to renovate your house? Give her a few days and it will be done flawlessly.

So, when it comes to supporting your farm, you’d hit the ceiling of your potential very quickly if it weren’t for Robin helping with the expansion of your original farmland and home.

Stardew Valley portrait (left) and game sprite (right) of the character Pierre

1Pierre

Pierreis sometimes regarded as a villain in Stardew Valley. He buys up your stock and marks it up to outrageous prices for the rest of the people in town.

But…that does mean he buys your stock; he buys every single food item you bring him, forage included. Sure, he tries to sell it as if it were his own orfill his grange displaywith items he surely got from you, but as long as he keeps paying you, then does it matter?
