It’s not thatEiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroesis a particularly tough game. It’s just that, with its old-school RPG sensibilities such as the vital importance of resource management in dungeons, you may wish to optimize your party lineup to help ease the burden. Especially if you’re playing on hard mode, where the bosses pack an extra punch.
Our hope is that this list of the most powerful characters in Eiyuden Chronicle will help to guide you on your way to victory. Plus, you know… there are over 70 recruitable characters who are eligible for battling. This might also help you to feel a bit less overwhelmed onthatfront.

10Aleior
Aleior has one big problem: he takes up two slots in your party. As a result, you’re relying upon Marisa’s lovely griffin to justify his position by being at least as valuable as most combinations of two characters you’ve tossed aside to make room for his noble frame.
On the flip side, it isn’t hard to reach that justification. Aleior’s Power and Magic stats are both sky high; a bad pun, but in our defense, an unintentional one. Speaking of defense, both PD (Physical Defense) and MD (Magic Defense) are pretty passable, and Aleior’s HP is quite decent.

It really does boil down to a numbers game for the griffin, and aside from low Speed, they’re head-turning.
9Francesca
If we were comparing Eiyuden Chronicle’s best characters on personality alone, Francesca would be higher; at least we can take solace in the fact that she’s on this list in the first place. A wielder of twoveryseparate personalities, Francesca flips like a switch from sweet and kind to scornful and bloodthirsty. It’s the best.
But this list’s about battle potential, and Francesca’s still quite solid on that score. Her Magic is her highest stat, and while it’s notthehighest in the game, it’s still well above average. With five SP stocked, she can use Calm Fury, which ups her damage output considerably - and it boosts her regular attacks, too.

Give this sassy lass the Rune of Inferno so that she can whip out Crimson Fury on packs of foes, and Inferno Pillar on singular threats. If you’re willing to add Falward to your party, they share a heal-based Hero Combo that’s downright stellar.
Francesca’s big downfall is that she only has a single rune slot for magic. It holds her back, to be sure. As much as she acts the healer in the script, we think she’s best suited offensively.

8Yusuke
Yusuke is unstoppable in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes' early hours. His Power stat is terrific at that point in the game, and his Charge ability lets him shore up his strength up to two times. The damage unleashed on the third turn is extraordinary.
With this tactic, Yusuke can - and will - hit for north of 1,000 damage within eight to ten hours of plot progression. Unfortunately, our purple bandanna desperado loses his edge at higher levels. He’ll still hold his own just fine if you’re playing on normal, but the dropoff is more noticeable on hard.

7Chandra
Chandra, like Aleior, eats up a full two party slots. While we love Aleior, we love this legendary dragon all the more so. Chandra has the highest HP growth in Eiyuden Chronicle. She shares the honor of highest Power with Aleior, Iugo, and Lam; her Magic isatrocious, but no one’s perfect.
That phenomenal HP stat isn’t let down by poor PD and MD, so physical and magical hits will effectively slide right off of our girl. If you don’t mind the size issue, Chandra won’t let you down.

6Nowa
Well, you’re stuck with this guy for the vast majority of the game, so it’d be a crying shame if Nowa wasn’t any good. Thankfully, he’s fantastic. Not so much in the stats department (although they’re mostly decent to good, and his Power is great).
What matters here is how much Nowa candothat works to his advantage. Equipping him with the Warrior’s Pinnacle rune and letting him roll in with the one-SP Swinging Slash skill will eventually allow our hero to hit as hard as early-to-mid-game Yusuke on a single-turn basis. Which is wild.

Chain Smash, while it won’t hit as hard, is still pretty spiffy when so many enemies later in Eiyuden Chronicle are sporting armor. Especially in the Heroes Proving Ground, andespeciallyon hard, this can really put a damper on your progress without multiple attacks that gradually whittle it down.
5Mio
Mio is a strange case. The badass swordswoman from the East Reach will have a difficult time compelling most players to keep her in the party for most of the game except when she’s mandatory - which happens several times since she’s part of the “OG” Watch lineup. (Or you just really enjoy her character, in which case, don’t let us stop you.)
But Mio’s effectiveness doubles by the late game. If you’re tackling hard mode’s version of the Heroes Proving Ground, we’d argue it triples. She’s tied with El Alicanto for highest Dexterity, so her regular attacks will seldom miss. Her Power skyrockets at higher levels, and her Iaido Strike does all the more damage.

Iaido Strike sometimes instantly kills its target, and in our experience, this applies to a great many bosses as well. Put another way, you have a chance of ending boss battles in one stroke every time Mio attacks. It’s quite low odds, but dang - it sure feels good when it works.
Mio’s rune options include some good magic slot utility, but we don’t recommend relying upon her as a full-fledged mage. Her Magic stat just isn’t all that great.

4Milana
Listen up, thrall! Milana’s one of Eiyuden Chronicle’s best mages, with several dedicated rune slots for it, the chance to equip Mage’s Pinnacle, and a superb Magic stat.
For curious numbers buffs, at level 99, it’s tied with Mellore’s, and three points lower than Momo’s and Aleior’s; those two havethehighest in the game.

Milana has something else going for her - something that separates her from the rest of the pack. Namely, her two unique skills. Skeleton King Flick does decent initial damage, but automatically damages the target for the next three turns. Nice.
Summon Revenant Army strikes all foes with smash damage, and it can hit like a truck. Very, very nice. And while it’s quite a situational perk, it doesn’t hurt that Milana will always deal 50 percent more damage to revenant foes!
3Elektra
Elektra is capable of a great many things. Fiery of spirit, a strong leader, and versatile n battle. That last bit’s what we’re here for, but the rest doesn’t hurt! All five of Elektra’s runes are varying degrees of free; they are as follows:
Pretty stellar stuff, right? Now, factor in that Elektra has one of the highest late-game HP stats (and seeing as shejoinsin the late game, that’s basically all that matters) as well as enough PD to make her an all-around worthy tank. Her Power is among the best, only furthered by Warrior’s Pinnacle. Bottom line: Elektra lives up to her story-related reputation.
2Iugo
Iugo, like Yusuke, joins your team very early. And, like Yusuke, he leaves quite the impression in those early hours.UnlikeYusuke, that impression never fades. He is perpetually touting one of the highest Power stats in the game, and his one-SP Slash skill stacks its output on total SP.
Attack normally, build it, and if your enemies aren’t already dead from all the swordplay, they might wish they were when Slash hits. That’s honestly all there is to it. Iugo sports excellent Dexterity and Luck, too, so he’ll virtually always land his blows, and they’ll often be criticals. Simple stuff, and extremely effective.
1Momo
Momo is a centuries-old mage whosupposedlyprioritizes cuteness above all. That’s nice, Momo. That’s a nice little lie you’ve got going on there. It’s not that he isn’t cute - he is! - but when you’re this broken in battle, we refuse to believe that isn’t your number one passion in life.
Highest MP stat in the game? Check. Highest Magic stat in the game? Check - it’s technically tied with Aleior’s, but he only takes up one slot in your party. Highest MD? Check. Highest possible Luck to enhance crit rate? Check.
Three Magic runes gives Momo a wide range of options. His unique rune, Magical Font, boosts his Magic and MD by six percent per stockpiled SP, up to a maximum of 30 percent. Mage’s Pinnacle only furthers the fierceness. Rune of Inferno time? Yep. Crimson Nova for groups; Inferno Pillar for bosses. That Heroes Proving Grounds willnotknow what hit it.
