Summary

If there’s one thingJujutsu Kaisenis good at, it’s creating interesting, well-rounded characters that get viewers emotionally invested (unfortunately for us, this is a double-edged sword with the show’s darker tone). With its stylish animation, absolutely amazing openings, and intense fight scenes, we can’t help but find ourselves more and more invested in this world and its characters.

Despite how interesting the entire cast is, some clear favorites have emerged as the show goes on (andthe manga concludes its third popularity poll). Whether because they have the coolest fight scenes, the most interesting personalities, the most dynamic storylines, or the most potential, these are the characters fans can’t wait to see more of.

Sukuna lounging atop his throne of bones.

10Ryomen Sukuna

The King Of Curses

Sukuna maybe a curse, and a particularly nasty one at that, but it’s hard not to enjoy how confidently and easily he wields his powerful techniques. As the driving force behind the plot, and a dangerous presence lurking just behind Yuji’s smile, we’re never able to forget about Sukuna, even when he’s not on-screen.

Whether you want to see him defeated, or if you want to see the real extent of what he can do, one thing is for sure: any fight Sukuna is in promises to be entertaining. For that reason, we can’t wait to see him face off against the rest of the Jujutsu world.

Maki Zen’in holds a cursed weapon.

9Maki Zen’in

The Zen’in Family Underdog

In the case of Maki Zen’in, Toji Fushiguro, who shares her Heavenly Restriction, was only the blueprint. His fight with Gojo teases her potential as a very dangerous fighter. She also represents the injustice of the powerful Zen’in clan, the family that rejected her, and she’s vowed to become powerful enough to spite them, which is one of the most interesting sub-plots in the show.

Between her quest for strength, her strong-will, and her potential to rival even Gojo, Maki Zen’in is a character that we can’t take our eyes off.

Suguru Geto with a sinister smile in Jujutsu Kaisen.

8Suguru Geto

The Worst Of All Curse-Users

As both a protagonist and an antagonist, Geto is not only a morally complex figure, but an ultimately tragic one, as one half ofone of the most iconic duos in anime. Initially the person grounding his closest friend, Satoru Gojo, we follow him as he turns his back on non-sorcerers in one of the most dynamic character shifts of the show..

It’s hard not to sympathize with him, and even like his unique sense of humor and style, despite how far he ultimately goes. Especially when he’s framed through his relationship with Gojo. His continued role in the story, as we’re literally haunted by his presence, keeps him at the front of our minds.

Yuta Okkotsu smiling in the snow in Jujutsu Kaisen.

7Yuta Okkotsu

The Queen Of Curses' Prince Charming

With an entire movie focused on his coming into his own, it’s hard for us not to sympathize with Yuta. Starting off shy, demure, and more than a little unsure of himself, Yuta’s humble nature contrasts with the power he possesses, making his development all the more satisfying to watch.

Even if we hadn’t gotten attached to Yuta in the Jujutsu Kaisen movie, the other characters are constantly referring to how strong this guy is. How could we not be excited to see what he’s going to bring to the table?

Nobara Kugisaki holds her hammer and two nails.

6Nobara Kugisaki

Staying True To Herself No Matter The Cost

Fiery, brash, and ready to throw down with anyone who dares challenge her, the third member of the main trio brings a lot of energy with her. Despite how willing she is to fight (and trash talk), Nobara Kugisaki is also into the finer things, and she refuses to sacrifice her enjoyment of life for her work. In fact, she’s a sorcerer for the sake of living in the city, but don’t let that goal fool you into thinking she’ll be an easy target for curses.

Nobara not only holds her own, she does it with a unique style and flair that makes her an easy fan favorite.

Toge Inumaki, his mouth covered by his uniform.

5Toge Inumaki

Cursed Speech User

Because his unique cursed technique constricts his ability to speak freely, Toge Inumaki comes across as mysterious and cool. Even though he only speaks in the form of one-word rice-ball ingredients, we learn a lot about him through his actions. He’s protective of his friends and classmates, level-headed under pressure, and insightful when it comes to relationships.

So, while his messing around with his classmate Panda may make him seem a little less mysterious, he is still pretty cool. And because of that, he’s definitely a character we’d love to see more of.

Kento Nanami adjusts his sunglasses.

4Kento Nanami

The People’s Mentor

Truly representing the concerns of the average worker, Nanami provides a much-needed, and often humorous, straight-laced contrast to Gojo’s laid-back mentor style. Though his stoic demeanor doesn’t mean he isn’t also harboring a heart of gold. We fell in love with Nanami’s stoic refusal to work overtime, but we stayed because of his refusal to stand by when he could alleviate someone’s suffering.

Even with the events of the Shibuya Incident, the influence of this character on Yuji, and the other sorcerers he helped inspire, is sure to carry throughout the rest of the story.

Megumi Fushiguro perpares to use his cursed technique.

3Megumi Fushiguro

Wielder Of The Ten Shadows Technique

The second member of the main trio, Megumi presents a brooding front. Unaffected by others and more than willing to be left alone, he’s stoic, calculating, and has a dry sense of wit, acting as a perfect contrast to his energetic, and often times silly, classmates. And who doesn’t love a bad boy?

However, underneath this jaded cynicism, (which he’s certainly earned based on his backstory) lies an intense passion that we only see when he’s fighting or protecting the people he cares about. This contrast in extremes has us just as interested in him, and what he’s capable of, as Sukuna seems to be.

yuji itadori from jujutsu kaisen

2Yuji Itadori

Sukuna’s Unlikely Vessel

As the protagonist, we see a lot of Yuji throughout the series, and we’re happy about that. Unfailingly courageous and committed to his principles, Yuji goes out of his way to help and befriend others. It’s hard not to admire someone so steadfastlygood, even as his situation continues to get worse.

He also remains relatable and down-to-Earth despite the strange circumstances he suddenly finds himself in, as his rants about popular movies, admiration of actresses and classmates, and lighthearted banter with his friends make him feel like someone you could actually know. In terms of who you’d want to hang out with in real life, Yuji would probably fit in with almost anyone.

satoru gojo in Jujutsu Kaisen

1Satoru Gojo

The Strongest Sorcerer There Is

Blessed with almost God-like abilities, Gojo is not only interesting to watch in fights, he possesses a confidence in himself that’s enviable. At times overtly arrogant and prideful, we also see a more complex side to him in his genuine, and tragic, love for his best friend, his protectiveness over his students, and his moral struggle over his obligations to others in his youth.

We’re not only interested in watching him push his abilities to the limit, but also in how these abilities have shaped his character, for better and for worse. After all, it must get pretty lonely at the top.
