The art direction forFromSoftwaregames is incomparable to other studios, always going the extra mile towards giving us an unforgettable experience. The finer aspects of an area are not lost upon FromSoftware Soulsborne games, and they always add those minute details that make them stand out when compared to other video games.

The dungeons and the locations in these games are a huge part of what makes them amazing, and they keep on learning with each experience, adding better and more beautiful locations that will leave you in awe when you visit them for the first time.

Lothric Castle from a distance

We know that Sekiro isn’t strictly a “Souls game”, but we decided to add it as it shares world design ideas and procedures like the rest of the games.

10Lothric Castle (Dark Souls 3)

An Architectural Marvel That Screams Dark Souls

Lothric Castle is the final area before the last area inDark Souls 3, which you can access afterfighting the Dancer of The Boreal Valley boss and defeating the Lords of Cinder. Upon entering, there are huge hallways and interconnected rooms that are reminiscent of the map design of the first Dark Souls, adding a nostalgic feel.

The massive castle halls give way to open areas that have breathtaking views and will eventually lead you to perhaps one of the most emotional bosses of the series, Lothric and Lorian, the Twin Princess. Lothric Castle has a lot going for it and has cemented its place as one of the more visually stunning locations in Soulsborne games.

The Original Hub Area That Oozes Relaxing Vibes

TheDark SoulsFirelink Shrine is the original hub area of FromSoftware games. You can access this location after escaping the northern undead asylum and joining the journey to link the fire to prevent the world from falling into darkness.

Almost every major area is connected to the Firelink Shrine one way or another, providing you with shortcuts to different locations. The comfort of other undead NPCs giving you company and the soundtrack have cemented this placeas one of if not the best hub area in these titles.

A Galactic Setting For A Place That’s Underground

The feeling of entering the Siofra River Well for the first time and going down the elevator to realize that there are entire underground sections of the map that are visually stunning is one ofElden Ring’sbest qualities.

The first time you see the bright star-like lights and the blueish-purple color scheme along with a beautiful view overlooking other underground areas will take your breath away. FromSoftware went above and beyond when creating Elden Ring’s areas, and you may tell with Siofra River, the attention to detail and the artistic vision of the location.

7Forsaken Cainhurst Palace (Bloodborne)

A Gothic Representation Of Everything That Makes Bloodborne Great

The Forsaken Cainhurst Palace inBloodborneis a castle perched upon a snowy mountain, a wonder that stands tall despite its inhabitants having been slaughtered in their own home. As you roam through the halls, you’ll find apparitions and spirits of the former masters that once called this palace their home.

It’s an architectural marvel and one of FromSoftware’s more artistic areas that serves as a perfect representation of Bloodborne and the haunted Lovecraftian vibe that the former thrives off of. The atmosphere of this place is unmatched when it comes to Soulsborne games.

A Mystical Place With Mysteries Surrounding It

Sekiro’sart style is distinct when compared to the other creations from the studio, with more vibrant colors and anime-like animations that are a marvel to look at. The entire area is fun to explore and visually stunning, elevating an already amazing game. The battle with the Divine Dragonand the game mechanics incorporated into the fight cement Fountainhead Palace as an area with an incomparable mystic charm to it.

Anor Londo Light

5Anor Londo (Dark Souls)

An Awe-Inspiring View After Fighting Non-Stop Is Exactly What Every Player Needs

Anor Londo is the halfway point of Dark Souls. After hours of intense and nerve-racking situations and finally reaching your goal, there is a feeling like no other when you get this view.

It’s a beautifully majestic place under the sun, which is actually an illusion placed by Gwyndolin to motivate the undead into re-linking the fire. It’s here you fightperhaps one of the best duo bosses of all time, Ornstein and Smough. Anor Londo is so iconic that it was brought back in Dark Souls 3 as a call back to the original game.

Majula in Dark Souls 2

4Majula (Dark Souls 2)

A Place That Feels Like Home

The serenity of Majula inDark Souls 2is unmatched, and it’s widely regarded as the best hub area in Soulsborne games, for the views it offers and the feeling of relaxation you get when peering over the cliffside.

Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree in Elden Ring

3Miquella’s Haligtree (Elden Ring)

A Haven For The Outcasts Of The Lands Between

Though we don’t know much about Miquella, his Haligtree is evidence of the fact that his intentions were good, welcoming all sorts of creatures from across the Lands Between into his home. It’s tough to get here and even tougher to beat the boss waiting for you at the end.

The Haligtree is a beautiful place that houses Miquella’s people, misfits and shunned creatures that were welcomed with open arms. Being next to such a huge landmark makes you feel small, giving a sense of scale to the game that has made Elden Ring so popular.

irithyll of the boreal valley

2Irithyll Of The Boreal Valley (Dark Souls 3)

Journeying Under The Moonlight Has Never Felt More Serene

Irithyll is a place that is constantly under the moon’s glow, distinct from any other location in Dark Souls 3, and it’s reminiscent of the painted world in the first title in a way. The road leading to Irithyll gives perhaps one of the most unforgettable views a Souls game has to offer and will leave you with an open mouth as you stare into the distance.

The grandiose gothic architecture represents the tone of Dark Souls perfectly, and as a surprise, towards the end of this area, you’ll stumble upon a nostalgic place, Anor Londo from the first Dark Souls game.

Leyndell Royal Capital in Elden Ring

1Leyndell (Elden Ring)

Order Contrasted By Chaos In A Near-Perfect Way

Leyndell is Elden Ring’s Anor Londo. The place you have tried to reach after dozens of hours and hundreds of deaths, and boy… is it worth it. The golden colors, the shine of the Erdtree, and the boss fights are so amazing. Then you realize the details and layers behind the city that represents the Golden Order as you journey through the sewers of Leyndell, which contrast the seemingly perfect place right above you.

Leyndell is huge and the seemingly endless artistic detail in this location is amazing, making it the most beautiful place that FromSoftware lovingly crafted for players in their (arguably) best game yet.
