Summary

NintendoandLego’s relationship began in 2020 and has continued to blossom in the four years since. Mario was naturally the first character to get his own Lego set and has his toy brick Mushroom Kingdom has grown,Animal Crossinghas received its first sets too. There have been rumors for years thatThe Legend of Zelda will be getting the Lego treatment tooand despite how much sense that would make, there’s still not been an official announcement. However, a new report has corroborated rumors that Link will make his Lego debut in September, also revealing the set’s size and price.

According to Bricktastic(thanks, VGC), Lego’s first Zelda set is still on track to release this September and it will cost 300 euros ($325). The set will be made up of 2,500 pieces, and as previously reported, it will be modeled after the series' Great Deku Tree. Not just one Great Deku Tree but two as the character/location has taken many forms throughout The Legend of Zelda’s history.

Before starting your build, you’ll need to decide what your Lego Deku Tree will look like. The set can resemble either the Deku tree fromOcarina of Time, or the one fromBreath of the Wild. The former will have green leaves and the latter will have pink leaves, and since you will have to completely disassemble the set and start over if you want to switch from one tree to the other, I’m assuming the differences between the two will extend further than just different color leaves.

Two Great Deku Trees In One Debut Set

If the rumors are true, the set will also include four Minifigures - Classic Link, Young Link, Breath of the Wild Link, and Breath of the Wild Zelda, as well as a Hylian Shield and Ocarina accessories. A lot of stuff in the set for that price if all of these reports are accurate, and curiously a set clearly aimed at older Lego fans unlike pretty much everything Nintendo has released so far, some of the larger Mario sets andits Lego NESthe exceptions.

Although the rumors have become more concrete this week, it’s a shame Lego didn’t have anything official to announce over the weekend to markTears of the Kingdom’s first anniversary. The set doesn’t have any connections to the latest Zelda game though so perhaps it would have felt a little forced. Lego also already made a big announcement about an officially licensed set this weekend by dropping a teaser forits Barad-dur Lord of the Rings set, releasing June 1. Finally confirming Zelda Lego is coming may have overshadowed that, or vice versa.
