In a large MMO likeFinal Fantasy 14, there are always plenty of things to do. Whether it’s experiencing the story, crafting and gathering, or learning difficult fights like extreme trials and savage raids, one thing you will need to invest time in by the end game is gearing up. The simplest way to get top-tier gear is by using tomestones, one of the game’s many currencies to collect.

There is a multitude of ways to collect all the different kinds of tomestones, but some methods will be faster and more efficient than others. By using these methods, you can get yourself ready to tackle all the content the game has to offer.

9Complete Unreal Trials

A simple way to get started on collecting tomestones, is to start running Unreal Trials every week. These weekly trials feature a past boss fight from a previous expansion brought back into the current day, giving players the chance to redo these classic fights with new abilities and skills that weren’t present when the fight first debuted.

While Unreal Trials don’t give you a lot of tomestones per run, they do give you the chance to collect another currency called Faux Leaves, which are redeemable for some very rare and exclusive rewards like mounts and minions. If you are in the market for tomestones, it’s a good idea to do your weekly Unreal clear for all the extra rewards.

8Alternatively, Try Normal Trials

Unreal isn’t the only trial you may do to farm tomestones. Normal trials can be just as viable and can offer you more variety in the fights you partake in. You have the option of revisiting any story boss you would like as a trial, and they all offer tomestones upon completion.

Trials can be quick to run and do not take much effort to complete, especially when they are from older expansions. Even though the payout is still a bit on the low side, the speed at which you can complete these fights might make up for that difference.

7Join Some Raids

Moving on from Trials, Raids, whether Normal or Savage, are typically harder fights at the end game that aredesigned to test your skills and mastery of your job. As such, they offer marginally better tomestone payouts than the other boss fight type content and some might enjoy the increased difficulty.

Like other end game content, Raids can offer you even more benefits than just the tomestones you will gain from completing them. Normal Raids usually offer weekly loot pieces exchangeable for decent gear, while Savage Raids give you the chance to obtain some of the best equipment you can at that point in time.

6Fight In PVP

For players who like competitive gameplay, this option might be for you. All of Final Fantasy 14’s different PVP modes offer varying amounts of tomestones for completing games, with a higher reward given for being victorious as well. You can also level through the PVP season rewards while you grind, making this a pretty efficient option.

Crystalline Conflict is great for quick, simple matches that pit two teams of five players each over control of a crystal in the center of the map. The payout is modest, but games tend to be quick. Frontline is another great option as the tomestone payout is much larger than Crystalline Conflict, but the games involve three teams of 24 players each, and the matches tend to be longer.

5The Bozjan Southern Front/Zadnor

If large scale content is your thing, then spending some time on the battlefront in the Bozjan Southern Front or Zadnor might be a good option for you. These areas were zones added during the Shadowbringers expansion that have players working together to complete FATES and other objectives on a large map.

Each of the smaller FATES reward modest amounts of tomestones and other rewards upon completion and also has the chance to spawn larger engagements in the area that offer even bigger payouts. The largest engagements you can do in Bozja and Zadnor, Castrum Lacus Litore and the Dalriada respectively, give you decent amounts of tomestones along with many other rare items, making this very worth your time if you’re looking for more rewards.

4Variant Dungeons

A more recent edition to the plethora of content in the game, Variant Dungeons offer players a pick-your-own-adventure form of dungeon with multiple paths to choose from. Each run can be different from the last, and there are multiple fights that can have altered mechanics depending on the path chosen.

These dungeons offer plenty of replayability with their alternate paths and endings and even give a decent number of tomestones upon completion. They can be done either solo or with a party of up to four other players as well, so they can be pretty flexibile in how you choose to do them, making them an excellent choice to use to grind.

3Complete Newer Dungeons

On the topic of dungeons, even the regular run-of-the-mill dungeons that you unlock while going through the game and its story can net you large numbers of tomestones per clear. Despite being such a simple option, dungeons remain one of the most effective and efficient choices due to how easy they can be to clear.

The more recent the dungeon, the better the tomestone payout tends to be. Running the most recent dungeon will usually net you around 80 of the non-limited tomestone and 50 of the limited tomestone of that particular patch. Meanwhile running dungeons from past expansions will net you up to 100 Tomestones of Poetics, the general tomestone for older content, depending on the dungeon.

2Participate In Alliance Raids

Alliance Raids are large scale dungeonsthat involve three teams of eight player parties, totaling up to 24 players at a time. They can offer you great gear to use in the interim while you grind up more tomestones to purchase even better equipment later on.

They are like dungeons in how they are structured, so they usually take about as long as a regular dungeon will, making them very efficient to cap your tomestones as quickly as you can. Most are relatively easy to clear, so they are one of the best options available.

1Do The Duty Roulette

If you are looking to make a lot of tomestones consistently and in a relatively short period of time, then the very best option for you to do is your roulettes every day. Roulettes are daily challenges that will drop you into a random dungeon, trial, raid, and more for increased rewards like experience, money, and, you guessed it, tomestones.

Since they refresh daily as opposed to weekly, they are the very best resource available to you when it comes to farming tomestones. They also have the added benefit of being an additional reward on top of the normal clear reward for the content you do. For example,an expert roulettewill give you bonus tomestones on top of the normal amount for the dungeon clear. If you do these daily, you will never have a problem acquiring the gear you want.
