Gear Item Level Breakpoints For Each Content

Season foursquished the dungeon levels or difficulty for the mythic tier. If you played season three, a +11 or +12 mythic key is now a +two key in season four.

They also scaled them+0 to the difficulty level of a +10 key in season three. This change is for players who didn’t get a chance to gear up their character in season three. These new players can easily finish baseline content such as normal, heroic, and mythic dungeons.

Based on the table, mythic or m+zero is the only way to get Drake crests from dungeons, but you’re able to also get them through normal awakened raids. The item levels starting from a+eight key difficulty already give “Myth” level gear. Technically, you can get the best gear possible, in terms of item level, by purely running mythic+ dungeons if you wait long enough.

For raids, it is a bit different. Since season four introduces awakened raids, all the Dragonflight raidswill be in the rotation. Every new week or weekly reset, there will be a different Dragonflight raid marked as “Awakened” –Amirdrassil, The Dream’s Hope, Aberrus, The Shadowed Crucible, and Vault of the Incarnates.

Here’s the breakdown of the item level dropped for all the raids.

Last boss/bosses drops 496 (Champion)

Last boss/bosses drops 509 (Hero)

These item level breakdowns are no different than in previous seasons. However, this also means that you can combine powerful weapons, armor, and trinkets from different raids.

The Best Way To Farm Good Gear

If you aren’t in a guild that runs mythic raids, mythic+ dungeons are the best way to get some good gear. If you are starting the season with a low ilvl or a freshly maxed out character, you’ll need to start with the basics. Here’s a priority list of things you should do to increase your item level.

Some of these steps are skippable, depending on what you prefer or what you may finish. If you find it too tedious to look for raid groups in the premade group finder, you can go for mythic+ dungeons instead.

If you have a good guild that has scheduled raids for normal and heroic raids, you’re able to run those raids and run mythic+ dungeons on the side for supplementary loot. Generally, the list above is the most conservative approach.

Some players may prefer to skip a few difficulty tiers, like going to m+6 immediately, even with a sub-490 item level character. Things will get harder, but it is definitely doable, especially withproper communication and a great team.

Skipping from farming veteran-tier to champion-tier gear is completely possible, saving you several hours of farming.

Crafting Gear

Season four has the same crafting mechanics as previous seasons. You’ll have toget two of the new Splintered Spark of Awakening and combine themto create the Spark of Awakening using 250 Flightstones.

Once you have the Spark of Awakening, you can craft your own gear if you have the right profession for your needed gear piece orcreate a work order and have someone else do it for you. The item level of the crafted gear is dependent on the type of Crest you use.

Once you get the required Crests for your specific gear, you’ll still need a crafter to make the Enchanted Crestand also buy the remaining materials for your specific item. It is a long and expensive process, but you’ll get a great gear piece in return.

Some of these items arethe best-in-slot gear for some classes and specializations, such as the Elemental Lariat. The rewards outweigh the costs, so crafting is definitely one of the best ways to gear up your character. However, your crafting will be limited to the number of Crests and the number of Sparks you have available.

Only craft your item when you are absolutely positive that the item you are crafting is eitherthe best-in-slot or you keep getting unlucky in getting a specific piece of gear.

If you have leveled up your crafting skills, you can take this as an opportunity tomake absurd amounts of gold through crafting professions. It is the perfect time to be a crafter and provide for players who need some gear upgrades.

The Parting Glass - Antique Bronze Bullions

Antique Bronze Bullion is an exclusive currencyused to purchase the highest item level gear you want. The selection includesrings, weapons, shields, and trinketsyou can loot in the three raids rotating in season four. It sounds too good to be true, but it does have a catch. The drops are extremely limited.

You canonly earn one Antique Bronze Bullion per week and characterby defeating any Awakened boss on any raid difficulty. Farming this extremely valuable currency might pressure players to play every week. However, there is a catch-up mechanic set in place.

Every week, your Antique Bronze Bullion cap will rise by one. This means that if you miss a week, you’re able to catch up to your current cap.

Most, if not all, items cost two Antique Bronze Bullions. Seeing how valuable the currency is, you should proceed with extreme caution when purchasing items. Here’s a strict checkbox on when you should use the Antique Bronze Bullions:

Since most of the items are attainable through raiding, it is best totry and finish all the bosses you can every week. If you can’t get the item you want to drop, that’s when you should use the Antique Bronze Bullions. The Antique Bronze Bullion vendors are insidethe Parting Glass, east of Valdrakken – coordinates 73, 45.

For non-raiders, this is one of the best features in season four since you can get one of the best trinkets for your character without even raiding.
