Dragon’s Dogma 2has added a new Vocation for the Arisen to master. Known as the Warfarer—sometimes mistakenly called the “Wayfarer”—this forgotten style allows you to wield the power of multiple Vocations simultaneously. You can’t use other Maister skills, and your stats are slightly lower, but the versatility of this class cannot be understated.

Wield the power of Thief, Mystic Spearhand, and Sorcerer with this powerful Warfarer build. We take the best aspects of each class to create the ultimate frontline fighter, giving you access to excellent survivability and great burst DPS. Master this Vocation’s playstyle, and you’ll win virtually every fight in the game with ease.

Build Overview

Become the master of melee combat with the Warfarer, an Arisen Vocation that allows you to wield multiple weapons simultaneously. Thanks to the Rearmament skill, you may swap between three different Vocation styles at any time. For this build, we useMystic Spearhand, Sorcerer, and Thief to create the ultimate melee character.

You’ll have access to powerful melee weapons, a decent ranged weapon, an invincible shield, a powerful source of stamina regeneration, and much more. If you don’t mind input-heavy playstyles, this build can handle virtually every fight in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Skills And Augments

Due to their lack of Maister skills, the Warfare must rely on ability synergies to deal good damage. Fortunately, there are some powerful skills you can take from the Thief, Mystic Spearhand, and Sorcerer Vocations to create a DPS monster. Each Vocation gives us some powerful options in combat.

Change weapons. Consumes a small amount of Stamina.

Mirour Shelde

(Mystic Spearhand) Deploys an invincible barrier around you and nearby allies for 5 seconds.

Doesn’t apply to fall damage.

Augural Flare

(Sorcerer) Conjure a magick orb on the target that explodes after a short delay.

Damaging the orb increases the explosion count.

Skull Splitter

(Thief) Spin in the air and continuously strike the target with your daggers.

Voracity

Killing an enemy restores 10% of your maximum Stamina.

When combat starts, you’ll want toswap to your Duospear and cast Mirour Shelde. This will project a magick shield around you and your allies for five seconds, and it’s completely immune to damage. You can also cast Redout Bolt to slow the target. Cast it immediately afterward to make the bolt apply in an AoE, or press the jump button to teleport to the target.

With the enemies slowed, you can either start performing finishers or, if the target is a boss, castAugural Flarewith your Archstaff. The shield will protect you for the entire cast period. Once deployed, swap to your daggers and spamSkull Splitterto ramp up Augural Flare. If the boss survives your onslaught of attacks, the flare detonation will surely finish them off. Repeat as needed.

If you get low on stamina, swap to your Archstaff and cast Galvanize. You can also use Levitate while your Archstaff is equipped, which is useful for reaching out-of-reach chests in the open world.

For Augments, we recommend usingDynamism and Zeal. Both of these Augments come from Warfarer. Zeal will reduce the stamina cost of all skills, and Dynamism will drop your equip load by one—for example, lowering your effective weight from Medium to Light. We also useThewto increase our carry weight.

Since this build uses a ton of stamina, we recommendEnduranceto increase your max stamina andVoracityto restore a chunk of your max stamina when you kill enemies. Throw onAthleticismto drain less stamina while sprinting. If you need more damage, feel free to drop this Augment for something else.

Saint Idreum’s Stole

By the time you reach Bakbattahl, you can get most of the items showcased above.Dead Ringerdrops from the Drake fight in Melve. You can kill it right away from the ballista tower on the western edge of town. If you didn’t kill it, you can track it down inSigurd’s questline.

Item Upgrades

Excluding the Archstaff, we recommendDwarven Upgradesfor your weapons and armor. Weapons gain a massive knockdown bonus and can knock targets off-balance more quickly. Armor gains stronger knockdown resistance, making you highly resistant to staggers.

For your Archstaff, we recommendElven Upgradesto maximize your magick rating.

Lion-Lord’s Archstaff is sold by the blacksmith in Sacred Arbor, and Frosted Edge can be found in the Coral Snake’s Hideout dungeon. You can find better armor on Volcanic Island, but we use these items because they look nice together. Remember:the Warfarer can wearanyarmor.Equip what looks cool to you. Just be sure to upgrade it throughout your journey.

Rings are mostly down to preference. Since we are using Dwarven upgrades, we recommend theRing of Vehemenceto increase your knockdown power. Once you get some strong weapons, you’ll be able to stagger just about every enemy in the game. We also use theRing of Resolutionfor knockdown resistance.

Crimson Hosen

Pioneer’s Cape

After you complete the true ending, you’ll be able to acquire endgame items from vendors in Seafloor Shrine. We use a mix of endgame merchant items and WLC gear. Uncanny Eyes is the weakest armor piece we use, but it is fashionable and can be paired with kerchief masks to completely hide your face. Once again, fashion over function.

LIndworm FangandDragon’s Witare items you can purchase from the WLC vendor, each costing 110 Wyrmlife Crystals. The daggers sold by this vendor are actually subpar toHeaven’s Key, a pair of holy daggers sold by other merchants for Gold. Upgrade your blades with Dwarven, then enhance your Archstaff with Elvish. This will substantially increase your damage and make most Drake fights trivial.
