Summary

Babe Ruth, Roberto Clemente, and Hank Aaron are just three names in the long litany of legendary MLB right fielders. It’s a position which has featured multiple gold glove winning defenders and perennial home run hitting powerhouses. In the current landscape of baseball, there are some truly electric right fielders.

MLB The Show 24isn’t short on top of the line outfielders, but right field in particular is chock-full of elite caliber players. From young up and comers to long established titans of the MLB, if you plan on diving into MLB The Show 24, you’d be wise to consider any of these ten right fielders for your squad.

Josh Lowe Player Rating Page

10Josh Lowe

Overall: 81

It seems like no matter how many seasons the Tampa Bays Ray occupies the bottom of the league in total payroll, they will continue to field strong teams. While they don’t carry a squad of superstar talent, they boast immense roster depth and several solid players.

Former first-round pick Josh Lowe has yet to truly reach his ceiling, but there have been flashes of an all-star player. His 81 overall is indicative of his skill set, with his strongest attribute being his extraordinary contact versus right-handed pitchers and superb speed.

George Springer Player Rating Page

9George Springer

Overall: 82

George Stringer is statistically one of the greatest postseason hitters of all time. Even with the big asterisk next to his 2017 efforts due to the Astros cheating system, Springer has proved time and time again, he’s an elite-level hitter when summer turns to fall.

Ever since signing with Blue Jays, Springer hasn’t quite been the same player he was with the Astros, but he’s still solid. He sports a respectable 82 overall in MLB The Show 24, and sure, many of his ratings aren’t amazing, but he is generally well-rounded across the board.

Lane Thomas Player Rating Page

8Lane Thomas

Overall: 83

Out of the players in the top ten, Washington Nationals outfielder Lane Thomas is the most surprising name featured. After years of bouncing around the Cardinals and their minor league system, Thomas broke out big with the Nationals, especially in 2023.

With an 83 overall, Thomas can play all three outfield spots well, but it’s right field where he’s most at home. His 91 overall arm strength makes him a threat to throw out baserunners while his speed and contact give him more value both on the field and on the base paths.

Seiya Suzuki Player Rating Page

7Seiya Suzuki

Overall: 84

The Chicago Cubs made a late surge for a playoff berth in 2023, and while they ultimately failed to clinch a spot, it was a great indicator that a new era of playoff baseball in Chicago was around the corner. One player leading the charge in 2024 is right fielder Seiya Suzuki.

Suzuki had a good, but not great, 2022 rookie campaign, but it was 2023 when he showed up and showed out; his 84 overall in MLB The Show 24 results from his strong hitting, fielding, and base running metrics. With the Cubs looking good in 2024, Suzuki seems primed to raise his rating in the future.

Teoscar Hernandez Player Rating Page

6Teoscar Hernandez

Overall: 85

Even though it’s in vogue to make fun of the Los Angeles Dodgers for their lack of World Series wins despite consistently having the best record in baseball, that hasn’t stopped them from continuing to scoop up the cream of the crop of MLB talent in the offseason.

Teoscar Hernandez was one of the Dodger’s late free-agent signings and might be the most overlooked one. The 85 overall Hernandez dominates left-hand pitching is surprisingly swift for a man of his size, and he may not be the A1 superstar in LA, but he’s a powerful presence in right field.

Kyle Tucker Player Rating Page

5Kyle Tucker

Overall: 92

Even though the Houston Astros seem to have fallen off from their World Series (cheating aside) winning squad, that doesn’t mean they don’t still boast talented players. The Astros carry some of the finest hitters in all of baseball, especially in the outfield.

Right fielder Kyle Tucker rates an impressive 92 overall in MLB The Show 24; despite batting left-handed, Tucker’s contact versus lefties is a 99 overall, which is a pure rarity in MLB The Show. Along with the rest of his metrics being all-around steady, Tucker is worth a look for any new MLB The Show player.

Fernando Tatís Jr. Player Rating Page

4Fernando Tatís Jr.

If you had said a few years ago that the San Diego Padres’ Fernando Tatís Jr. would become one of the best defensive outfielders in the MLB, you might’ve been called mad. Even though Tatis Jr. was a decent enough shortstop, few could’ve seen him making a perfect transition to right field.

One of the MLB’s marquee players, Fernando Tatís Jr., enters MLB The Show 24 with a 92 overall rating. Although Tatis Jr.’s hitting stats are certainly impressive, it’s his mix ofsuperstar-level fieldingand blazing speed that earns Tatis Jr. a place among baseball’s elite outfielders.

Adolis García Player Rating Page

3Adolis Garcia

Overall: 93

The 2023 Texas Ranger World Series came about because their players were able to get hot at the right time. While the Ranger’s big-money stars Corey Seager and Marcus Semien certainly delivered in October, they weren’t without one of the MLB’s biggest breakout stories.

Right fielder Adolis Garcia went from a decent everyday ballplayer to one of the game’s most electric sluggers. His 93 overall rating came on the back of hisgrand home run popand his absolute bazooka of an arm in the outfield, and there are a few players more explosive than Adolis Garcia.

Ronald Acuña Jr. Player Rating Page

2Ronald Acuna Jr.

Overall: 99

What can be said about Ronald Acuna Jr. that hasn’t already been said? Sure, he’s been a part of a fair bit of controversy for his antics over the years, but the Atlanta Braves' right fielders talent is undeniable and his 2023 campaign was nothing short of incredible.

Ronald Acuna Jr. is that extraordinary combination of top power, defense, and speed that’s scarce in baseball. His ability to crush home runs is only matched by his prowess for stealing bases with reckless abandon, which has unquestionably justified his 99 overall in MLB The Show 24.

Mookie Betts Player Rating Page

1Mookie Betts

Technically calling Los Angeles Dodgers’s superstar Mookie Betts a right fielder isn’t one hundred percent correct. Despite playing right field for nearly all of his career and doing so with gilt-edged mastery, the sheer amount of Dodgers’ talent has driven him to shortstop.

Despite the change in real life, in MLB The Show 24 Betts remains a beast in right field. It’s not just Betts’ stellar defense across multiple positions that make him great, but top-notch talent with the bat as well; for a player of Mookie Betts’s skill, anything but a 99 overall wouldn’t be right.
