The SPAS-12 has made its return inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.This legendary shotgun is known in the MW series as a powerful pump-action weapon, while Black Ops fans remember the SPAS as a semi-auto weapon. Instead of sticking with one fire mode, Sledgehammer added both.

The Reclaimer 18 is the only shotgun in MW3 that can toggle between pump-action and semi-automatic firing modes, each with a unique set of stats and quirks. In this guide, we’ll explain how to unlock the Reclaimer 18 and showcase two of the strongest builds you can use with this powerful shotgun.

How To Unlock The Reclaimer 18

Once Season 4 ends, you can unlock this weapon through theArmory Unlock system.

The Reclaimer 18 is found inSector D23 of the Battle Pass.As with all previous mid-season weapons, you’ll need to complete a series of challenges to unlock this weapon—Battle Pass tokens aren’t required.

The challenges are easy enough and can be completed in any playlist. Once you’ve completed all five challenges, you can equip the Reclaimer 18 on all future Create-A-Class loadouts. You’ll need to level the weapon up to Level 15 to unlock all of its attachment options.

Semi-Auto Reclaimer 18 Build

This build maximizes the effectiveness ofyour semi-automatic fire mode. While in this state, the Reclaimer trades overall damage for substantially more hipfire and tac stance accuracy. To take full advantage of this, we spec forhipfire and tac stance accuracyto effectively remove all pellet deviation from each shot. So long as you aim centermass and use tac stance, you’re able to land kills out to 20+ meters with a single shot.

We start by equipping theHinge LAF Light Stock. While not quite as mobile as the No Stock attachment, this gives excellent hipfire and tac stance accuracy stats that slightly beat No Stock. We then equip theIronbrand Heavy Barrelto increase the weapon’s ammo capacity and handling stats. For accuracy, we use theBruen Bastion Angled Grip, Stovl Tac Laser, and Bryson Choke. This results in a pellet spread so tight that it more or less becomes a slug thrower.

Loadout Recommendations

The Reclaimer 18 desperately needs reload speed and increased mobility to truly shine. We suggest using theCompression Carrier Vestto start. It gives you Quick Fix and Tac Mask for free, allowing you to runMag Holsterin your gear slot. This greatly reduces the Reclaimer’s reload time. We then runAll-Terrain Bootsto improve our strafe and sprint speeds with this weapon drastically.Command Glovesthen let you reload mid-sprint.

Beyond the perks, you’ll want along-range secondary weaponlike the Tyr. Your choice of Lethal equipment is entirely down to preference.

Pros And Cons

The pump-action fire mode on the Reclaimer is much more focused on aggressive ADS play. We’ve opted to create a build that increases the weapon’sADS speed, sprint-to-fire speed, and overall mobilityas much as possible.

No Stockis a good place to start, as it greatly improves your mobility at the cost of weapon recoil, something we don’t need to worry about. TheBryson Chokewill reduce pellet deviation, and theIronband Long Barrelwill increase your ammo capacity while improving your handling. We further enhance our ADS speed with theDR-6 Handstop andCenter Mass Grip Tape.

We suggest the same loadout as before.Compression Carrieris ideal for getting your HP back after a gunfight. Throw onMag Holsterfor quicker reloads andCommando Glovesto reload while sprinting. We preferAll-Terrain Bootsto sprint much faster, but you can run anything else in this slot if you prefer. The same goes for your equipment.
