Thanks to the Unholy Alliance expansion, you can team up with a buddy through split-screen co-op. In addition to playing the story mode, you can work together during various minigames. Plus, it always helps to have an extra pair of hands in case you need to get rid of a few witnesses.

In Factorio, you control an engineer who’s stranded on an alien planet and must find a way to build an escape rocket. The world is open to explore as you gather resources, construct machines, and eventually build and manage an automated factory.

In multiplayer mode, you may either cooperate or play competitively with a friend. Will you team up and help the other survive? Or will you build rival factories and try to one-up each other? Either way, Factorio is an absolute gem of a management simulator.

Since Among Us isn’t available on Mac, you can play Goose Goose Duck for similar social deduction gameplay. Terror strikes a gaggle of geese when they discover one of them is secretly a duck in disguise. It’s up to you and your allies to weed out the feathery fiend before it’s too late.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is arguably the biggest RPG in recent memory, so it’s a miracle it runs on Mac at all. Set in the Dungeons & Dragons universe, you and up to three others can start your very own campaign through the Forgotten Realms. No dungeon master is needed since the story and adventure are mapped out for you.

The gameplay is a perfect mix of open-world exploration and turn-based combat. Quests can be tackled in almost any order and often have multiple solutions, allowing you and your party to complete challenges however you like. The amount of freedom is astounding, making Baldur’s Gate 3 a must-play for any fans of the genre.

It should be noted that Baldur’s Gate 3 requires a pretty powerful computer to play.

Overcooked 2 puts you and a group of friends in the world’s most chaotic kitchens. Up to four people must work together to cook and serve meals in a series of hectic environments, ranging from a plummeting hot air balloon to an interdimensional vortex.

Each round is a fast-paced race against the clock that requires teamwork and quick thinking to navigate around the game’s many obstacles. The result is usually a lot of vegetable throwing while everything falls apart or catches fire. Check it out for a humorous co-op experience.

Looking for something spooky? 7 Days to Die is an open-world survival horror game set during the zombie apocalypse. The goal is to survive as long as possible by crafting weapons, building shelter, and fending off the undead. The gameplay strikes a nice balance between first-person shooting, tower defense, and RPG mechanics. Each run is a thrilling fight for survival and a suspenseful test of trust. Be careful of those around you, and most importantly, try not to get killed.

Inspired by 1930s cartoons, Cuphead brought a unique spin to the platforming genre with its dazzling hand-drawn art style and boss-rush gameplay. You and a buddy run and gun through challenging side-scrolling levels and goofy boss fights ranging from a psychic carrot to a slot machine made of frogs.

Everything from the jazzy soundtrack to the rubber hose animation nails the vibe of classic Disney or Looney Tunes shorts. Thanks to its local two-player support, Cuphead is an excellent choice for couch co-op.

You should have little to no trouble playing Cuphead if you have an older computer. I tested it on a ten-year-old MacBook, and fortunately, it ran just fine.
