One of the most attractive features ofWuthering Wavesis being able to grind the game to get a currency called Astirite, and then using it to get various new characters and weapons. The best way to use this currency is by spending it on limited banners where you can get the currently featured unit.
Jiyan was the first character you could find during the launch of the game, and he’s an Aero Broadblade main DPS. While he already has some phenomenal animations, you’ll also have to build him properly to make him satisfying to play as.

Best Jiyan Weapons
Weapons are an integral part of a character in Wuthering Waves, andyou’re asked to place one on each character at all times. These weapons are used by the characters during battle where they can utilize various special stats and bonus abilities. Here are the weapons that suit Jiyan’s kit the most:
Verdant Summit
This is Jiyan’s signature weapon, and you can only get it bypulling on the Weapon Event Convene. If you’re lucky enough to have it, this weapon will increaseJiyan’s Resonance attributes DMG by 12 percent.
Moreover, you may get a whopping24 percent Heavy Attack DMG Bonusif you consistently use his Resonance Liberation or Intro Skill.
Autumntrace
Apart from getting a ton of Crit Rate, this weapon willalso give you a free ATK boostjust by hitting the enemies with your normal attacks.
Guardian Broadblade
This is a three-star weapon, whichmakes it easy to get to Syntonize Five. It can give a decent boost to Jiyan’s Basic and Heavy attackswhile also giving him an ATK boost.
Unfortunately, some weapons don’t work too well on Jiyan simply because they increase the Resonance Liberation DMG while hisattacks in the Liberation are still considered Heavy Attacks.
Jiyan Echo Guide
Echo is a mechanic in Wuthering Waves that you don’t necessarily need to pay much attention to during the early game,but they become vital for building Jiyan in the late game. You can have up to five echoes on each character, but you’ll only be able to use the special ability of the echo placed in the main slot.
This makes it important tohave either Feilian Beringal or Hoochief in this slot, with the former being better than the latter. Feilian Beringal works perfectly for Jiyan as it increasesboth the Aero DMG and Heavy Attack DMG for the equipping character. Other than the main echo, here are the general sets you should look for:
Sierra Gale
This set increases your Aero DMG with two-piece while increasing it even further after your Intro Skill with four-piece. This is the best in slot for Jiyan ashe gets some other buffs from his Intro Skill as well.
Lingering Tunes
Alternatively, you can also go for this set as it increases his ATK while alsounlocking his off-field play style with regular damage.
It won’t be easy to get five pieces of these sets during the early game, so you can also opt to use atwo-piece of each one to get some Aero DMG and ATKbonus.
Echo Stat Priority
Once again, thinking of Jiyan’s echo stat priority isn’t something you should worry about until you reach at least Union level 30. Once you do, here are the stats you should look for:
Common (Cost 1)
ATK Percent
If you’re planning to use two Elite-type echoes, you can decide the main stat for the second one based on your build. For example, ifyou have a lot of Aero DMG Bonus already, you can go for ATK Percentand vice-versa. Other than that, you should look for Crit Rate, Crit DMG, ATK Percent, and Heavy Attack DMG on sub-stats.
If you’re lucky enough, gettingResonance Skill DMG Bonus on the sub-statsisn’t too bad either.
Best Jiyan Team Members
Even after having a good Jiyan build in Wuthering Waves, you’llnot get much value from the character if you don’t place the correct unitsin a team with him. Some of the best units you canuse with this characterare mentioned above, and here’s the main reason for each one:
Morfeti
Increases Heavy Attack DMGwith his Outro Skill while also dealing a ton of off-field damage.
Verina
Provides crucial healing to Jiyan whileincreasing his overall DMGand dealing off-field attacks.
Aalto
This synergy is difficult to use since both Aalto and Jiyan need a lot of on-field time. However, if you manage to pull it off, you may getincreased Aero DMG Deepen on Jiyan.
Baizhi
Similar to Verina, she also provides Jiyan withhealing and overall DMG, but doesn’t perform off-field attacks.
Jiyan Forte Priority
While building Jiyan, you’ll realize that upgrading his Forte isone of the most time-consuming parts, especially during the late game. This is because you have to upgrade up to five main abilities while also unlocking some stat boosts and Inherent Skills whenever possible. For Jiyan, you’d want to focus on his Resonance Liberation first.
While his attacks during the Liberation count as Heavy Attacks, their multipliers are still on the ability. After that, you’re able to follow the order mentioned above while unlocking his Inherent Skill whenever possible. It’s important to unlock the Gift of Nature skill as soon as you can since it’s crucial for his synergy with the Intro Skill.
You don’t usually make use of the normal version of Jiyan’s Resonance Skill, soyou can leave it after getting it to level six or so.
Jiyan Abilities, Explained
Even after you build Jiyan, youmight not be able to get much value from himif you don’t know how his abilities work:
Normal Attack
Press the basic attack button to deal a row of basic attacks. If you hold this button, you can perform a heavy attack,which deals multiple instances of damage to the enemy. This heavy attack can do two different things based on your actions.
you’re able to either release the button after holding it for a bit orkeep holding it to cast a Windborne Strike. After this strike or using your skill in the air, you can perform a special midair attack.
Resonance Skill
Dashes forward and deals damage to the enemies in the path. This skill dealsmore damage when you have 30 or more resolve(half of your forte bar).
Resonance Liberation
Puts Jiyan in the Qingloong state dealing special attacks considered as Heavy Attacks. Casting this ability with 30 Resolve or moregrants you a special attack at the beginning, and the animation also changes.
Forte Circuit
You can gain resolve by performing basic attacks or the Intro Skill, whichcan be used to buff your Resonance Skill and Liberation. Moreover, your Skill automatically gets buffed during the Qingloong state and doesn’t consume any resolve.
Intro Skill
Takes the field with an attack on the nearest target andprovides 30 Resolve instantly.
While it’s quite fun to use Jiyan on the field most of the time, hegets the most value if you focus on triggering his Intro Skill. In an ideal situation, you should trigger the Intro Skill and then use the 30 Resolve from it to trigger the buffed Liberation. After that, you can use yourSkill whenever it’s ready to gain some energywhile you consistently attack.
Keep in mind that all attacks in Qingloong state apart from the Skill are considered as Heavy Attacks, whichmeans that they won’t get buffed from Resonance Liberation DMG.
