Summary

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2is a remarkable adventure game with hyperrealistic visuals and stunning graphics. It is much like its predecessor, Senua’s Sacrifice, in its emotional story and cinematic style. Yet it still manages to deliver a refreshing new perspective of Senua’s story as she faces much more devastating enemies while battling her own mental illness.

However, Senua’s journey, while exciting and impactful, can feel a little short. It will definitely leave you wanting more experiences like this one. Fortunately, here are some similar titles that will give you other brilliant and touching stories.

Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection gameplay

If you’re looking for a more narrative-focused title with an engaging atmosphere, then the Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection might be a good choice for you. A whole lot of its gameplay focuses on the exploration factor that you see dominant in Hellblade 2 as well. It also involves challenging puzzles and a lot of combat featuring hectic shootouts.

The graphics are surreal and the story is fun and engaging. The titles take you on a memorable adventure as you climb new heights in an attempt to fulfill your legacy. Speaking of legacy, if you jump into this collection, you’ll get Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.

If you truly want to enjoy Hellblade 2, then it is necessary to experience the events Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice puts you through. You get to know more about Senua and dive deeper into her mental illness as she sets out on a quest to recover the soul of her beloved, who was sacrificed to Norse Gods.

The ethereal visuals, which do a great job of creating an enchanting and creepy atmosphere in the sequel, are here as well. Senua’s tale successfully sheds light on mental health issues and incorporates them in an unusually interesting way. The binaural sound and the echo effects make every encounter anxious yet thrilling.

A screencap of Stellar Blade’s Combat

A wonderfully crafted action RPG with a deep-end immersive environment, Stellar Blade is a must-try. Everything from the graphics to the spectacular music score is perfect. The enemy and monster designs are fantasticon and the combat is as exciting if not more than the one in Hellblade 2.

The wasteland you spawn in when starting Stellar Blade 2 is as creepy as the Erie world of Senua. The characters and the environment are detailed and there are a lot of different types of enemies that you get to fight. Exploration is equally fun in Eve’s journey, and you get to hear some fantastic tunes while doing so.

8Blair Witch

Terrifyingly Good Atmosphere With A Lot Of PTSD

The atmosphere and the horror elements in Hellblade 2 are undeniably good, but Blair Witch takes it to the next level. Being a proper survival horror, it will surely keep you up at night after you complete it. Set in a first-person perspective, you will get to explore a horrific forest and every encounter will give you goosebumps.

The haunting and intense environment of Blair Witch is no less terrifying than Hellblade 2. There is more exploration than combat if that’s your preference, and the enemies are no joke. This title also tackles mental health issues including PTSD and panic attacks.

Amica nd Hugo walking along the hallway in A Plague Tale Requiem

If you resonate with Senua, then A Plague Tale: Requiem is capable of offering a similar emotional experience with rich and interesting lore. It features a lot of dark and gloomy tones withstunning performances in terms of voice acting.

Playing A Plague Tale: Innocence before Requiem is recommended for a better experience.

A Plague Tale: Requiem follows the journey of Amicia and Hugo, the brother-sister duo as they set out out to discover the cure for a plague called Macula. They have to solve critical puzzles and engage in intense battles while doing so. The characters are coherent and well-defined just like Hellblade 2’s NPCs, which makes the experience in both games all the more realistic, and it helps you connect with each of these characters on a personal level.

In Hellblade 2 you play as a Celtic warrior up against gods like Valravn, the god of illusion. In God of War: Ragnarok, you get to battle as a god against bulky monsters and supreme beings such as Odin. Both these games feature Norse Mythology heavily in their storyline while offering several opportunities to explore the detailed world they are set in.

Spectacular Graphics of Lords of The Fallen

If you liked the lore of Hellblade 2: Senua’s Saga, you will adore Ragnarok. Another commendable quality is the use of exceptional music in both titles, letting you listen to fantastic compositions while fighting. Speaking of which, Ragnarok features much more intensive and chaotic combat with a rich story that you piece together as you take on several quests.

If you adore the incredible and immersive world of Senua, then you should consider trying out Lords of The Fallen. The enemies and the atmosphere are enough to scare you, but the gameplay is highly engaging and the lore equally interesting.

Bramble combat and gameplay

You will get to engage in combat more often in this compared to Hellblade 2 as this is a Soulslike title, and the bosses are much more grim and hard to defeat. It’s a must-try if you enjoyed the intense battles of Hellblade 2 but wanted more depth in them.

4Bramble: The Mountain King

A Node To Senua’s Nordic World

Bramble: The Mountain King offers a very close experience to Hellblade 2 in story, exploration, horror, and puzzle. Both titles seem like a walking simulator at the start, when you invest some hours, you’ll unveil their true nature. Bramble will place you in an Eerie Nordic world against terrifying monsters including zombies just as scary as the ones you face in Hellblade 2.

Every turn is full of horrors as you guide Olle through the territories of witches, trolls, and fairies. The combat appears later in the game and when it does, you will find yourself slashing through hordes of enemies and bosses that are no less than a nightmare.

The Talos Principle’s gameplay

The Talos Principle gives you an experience very similar to Hellblade 2 thanks to its tactile puzzles and a deep beautiful atmosphere. It is a beautiful story-driven experience with prominentphilosophical themes.

You get to explore several unique and interesting locations as you solve monuments that are inspired by mythological creatures. Just as Hellblade 2 offers a unique experience that is difficult to find in any other game, the Talos principle deserves equal recognition for its unique way of presenting puzzles and an overarching narrative around them.

the creepy atmosphere of Apsulov End Of Gods

2Apsulov: End Of Gods

Not only Apsulov blends Norse Mythology in its gameplay in a very futuristic sci-fi way, but it also has a strong female lead reminiscent of Senua. You get to fight enemies that come from all around Yggdrasil, the Tree of Life.

Beware of its dark environments — sometimes so dark that you have to navigate certain areas using a mechanic called The Sight to illuminate the way. The music score is spectacular and indulges you deep in the gameplay with semi-realistic visuals.
