Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3has brought back the fan-favorite MP9 with its third season. This powerful machine pistol features best-in-class mobility, fire rate, and an incredibly short TTK. Low effective range and moderate recoil keep this weapon in check, but players with good recoil control can dominate close-quarters engagements with this weapon.

To help you get the most out of the FJX Horus, we will be sharing two incredibly powerful builds that turn this weapon into one of MW3’s best SMGs. One build focuses on stealth attachments for more aggressive players, while the other is far more accurate and capable of dueling at medium range.

How To Unlock The FJX Horus

The FJX Horus is found inSector C8 of the Battle Pass.It takes at least 20 tokens to unlock this weapon, assuming you focus on unlocking this weapon right away. The weapon itself has18 Levelsand can be found in the SMG category. While the weapon itself is closer to a machine pistol than a proper SMG, the FJX Horus isnota secondary weapon.

Unlocking The FJX Horus After Season 3

Once Season 3 ends, the FJX Horus will be added tothe Armory Unlock system, unlocked at Level 25.

Pros And Cons

The FJX Horus has aggressive recoil that makes it difficult to use past a few meters, so we highly recommend you focus onvertical recoil control, horizontal recoil control, firing aim stability, and general aim stability. All four stats are crucial to making this weapon usable at further distances. This will come at the cost of handling and mobility (232ms ADS speed), but it’s still quite competitive with most SMGs.

We start by equipping theMartis Heavy Barrelto add some firing aim stability while expanding our underbarrel attachments. We then equip theBruen Heavy Support Gripto greatly improve the weapon’s horizontal recoil control. For vertical, we use theT51R Billeted Brake Smuzzle. Equip theLopper LX-D Stockfor added recoil control, then throw onany opticto complete the build. This should make the FJX Horus accurate for up to 20+ meters.

Loadout Recommendations

SMG builds are ideal for aggressive builds, so we recommend theCompression Carrierabove all vests. Kills will immediately trigger HP regeneration, and you gain the effects of Tac Mask for free. We pair this withCovert Sneakersto muffle our foosteps,Mag Holsterfor fast reloads, andScavenger Glovesto restock on ammo by walking over slain operators.

Your choice of secondary and equipment is mostly down to preference, although we recommend usingThrowing Knivesas your Lethal. They are incredibly useful for landing panic kills, and the knife gives you a one-hit kill melee attack.

This build turns the FJX Horus into a powerful SMG for atactical stancebuild. Since the weapon’s ADS recoil is less than stellar without recoil attachment, we’ve opted to spec for tac stance instead to take full advantage of the Horus' excellent mobility stats. You won’t be able to kill enemies on head glitches at medium distances, but this is a great weapon formore aggressive playstyles with great movement.

We use theShadowstrike Suppressorto stay off the radar, but there are a wide variety of suppressors you’re able to pick between. For tac stance accuracy, we use theSchlager Ulo-66 Laserto gain as much accuracy as possible without using a visible laser. We take this further with theBruen Bastion Support Grip, an underbarrel that requires theMartis Heavy Barrelto be installed. Equip theNo Stockmod to complete the build.

Lethal

Throwing Knife

This loadout recommendation is similar to our previous FJX Horus build, although we suggestchanging Mag Holster for Ghost. This will keep you off enemy radar while moving. Paired with the suppressor, you’ll seldom appear on the minimap. Beyond that, we use theCompression Carrierfor heal-on-kill, theScavenger Glovesto restore ammo on kill, andCovert Sneakersto muffle our foostep audio.
