Summary

Sea of Thievesis a multiplayer game where you and your friends can play as a pirate on the open seas. On top of sailing your ship, findinglots of treasure, and fighting other players, you will probably want to interact with your friends while sailing the high seas.

Luckily, there is an absolute plethora of emotes available in the game, that allow you to express your feelings through various actions. Since there are well over 200 emotes available, it can get overwhelming to decide which to use, so we have organized some of the best below.

In Sea of Thieves, you’re able to equip five different radial pages of emotes, with each page containing eight emotes. That means that you will be able to equip 40 emotes at once, and quickly flip between them to pick whichever action you want to perform.

10Hide

Have you ever been so embarrassed that you want to curl up in a ball and completely block out reality? Well, you’re in luck because you may purchase the Hide emote from the Pirate Emporium, which allows you to do exactly that.

Whenever you activate this emote, your pirate will slowly crawl onto the ground, then completely wrap themselves up to hide their face from any embarrassment. While this is a great emote to use during funny moments, you can also utilize it to conceal yourself in a ship stealthily.

Looking to make a new friend or flirt with a group of enemies? You should purchase the Blow Kiss emote from the Pirate Emporium, but this scandalous emote is only available in the Variety Emote Bundle 1.

When you equip and use this emote, your pirate will blow a kiss in the direction they are facing. While blowing a kiss is relatively simple, it can be useful to win over hostile players that randomly attack your ship, or you can share the lovewith your pet.

8Playful Hide

Unlike the Hide emote, the Playful Hide does not make your character curl into a ball, and instead focuses on a funny pose. Specifically, activating this emote will make your pirate lie on their stomach, while kicking up one of their legs into the air.

This emote is best used in funny scenarios, like if you want to anger a defeated or imprisoned player by using a funny pose. Furthermore, you can also use this emote to lure enemies toward your character, which is perfect for setting up a trap.

Nothing says camaraderie like high-fiving your crewmates and friends after the end of a tall tale or a successful ship battle. Thankfully, the high-five emote lets you do just that, and your friends can interact with the emote to high-five you back, or they can always choose to leave you hanging.

This emote can be purchased from the Pirate Emporium for 149 Ancient Coins, or bought in the Safe Salutations Emote Bundle. If you do not want to solely purchase this emote, then the Safe Salutations bundle is one of the best you can buy, since it provides four different emotes that all center around saying hello to your friends.

In popular media, pirates are always shown partying with their comrades and drinking tons of alcohol, so it makes sense that the Bilge Rat Sleep emote exists. This emote will cause your character to collapse onto their stomach, and then immediately fall asleep on the floor.

If you are roleplaying as a drunkard, then this emote will make it easy and fun to act like a mess around your friends, or you’re able to use this emote to surrender to enemies if theyraid your ship. This emote can be purchased from the Pirate Emporium, but it can only be bought from the Bilge Rat bundle, which includes cheering, dancing, and clapping emotes.

4Sympathy Violin

The Sympathy Violin emote puts your imaginary music skills to the test, and is a good emote to spam whenever someone makes a mistake or complains in the game. This emote will have your pirate pantomiming a violin performance, a common way of insulting someone after they make a mistake.

The Sympathy Violin emote is only available in the Variety Emotes Bundle 2, which can be purchased at the Pirate Emporium. While purchasing a bundle can be an inconvenience, all the other emotes included with the Sympathy Violin are relatively normal actions, making the bundle worth it.

3I’m Flying!

Inspired by the Titanic film, this emote allows you to recreate the iconic pose shared between Jack and Rose. If you want to use the emote yourself, then head to the front of your ship, and activate the animation to stick your hands outwards.

If someone else owns the emote and is currently in the animation, then you can interact with their character to hug them from behind, just like Jack from the film. If you want to purchase this emote, then you can do so from the Pirate Emporium for 149 Ancient Coins.

If you find yourself betting with your friends while playing Sea Of Thieves, then purchasing the Dice Roll bundle allows you to dynamically test your odds against other players. If you are a fan of roleplaying games, then you can also use this emote for different actions if you are playing with friends.

This emote is purchased from the Black Market, but you will have to purchase the entire bundle. Luckily, the bundle includes every die you could possibly need, such as a D4 or D12.

1Barrel Disguise Emote

While this particular emote is not the most visually stunning, it serves as a more functional service than others in the game. By equipping the Barrel Disguise Emote, your pirate will slowly get inside a barrel, which matches objects found throughout the world and other players' ships.

If you want to board an enemy ship or hide from dangerous enemies stealthily, getting inside a barrel will allow you to seamlessly blend into the environment and plan for the perfect moment to strike. This emote can be purchased from the Black Market at the cost of 50 doubloons.
