9Fallout

The original Fallout game launched the entire series back in the 90s, introducing players to a top-down gaming experience that allows you to explore Californiaafter a nuclear apocalypse.Since the older games in the Fallout series were released over two decades ago, the Deathclaws are not exactly enormous reptiles that strike fear into you.

Instead, the Deathclaws in Fallout do not have any significant claws, horns, or spikes, and instead feature a bright orange color that is lost in later entries. Just because they do not look as threatening as their modern counterparts does not mean that these retro Deathclaws don’t pack a serious punch, so be careful before you engage them in combat.

WHERE TO PLAY

Similar to the original, Fallout 2 takes place within New California and allows you to explore different locations and meet completely new characters. This game has a top-down perspective and features a completely open world that you can explore at your leisure, and is perfect for anyone who loves a retro gaming experience.

Since Fallout 2 utilizes the same technology as the original game, many structures and creatures look similar to the first game, including the Deathclaws. This means that the Deathclaws are still orange monsters that slightly resemble reptiles, and will lay eggs in secluded areas.

Fallout Shelter

Fallout Shelter is a free-to-play service game for mobile, console, and PC in which building and maintaining your own shelter is the main gameplay focus. You must scavenge for materials and items, protect the shelter from attackers, and ensure your vault’s residents are healthy and happy.

While a vault is a safe place to live in the Wastelands, various raiders or monsters, including Deathclaws, can attack your vault and its inhabitants. Instead of the 3D models we have gotten used to from other Fallout games, this Deathclaw is drawn in a cartoon aesthetic to match the art style of Fallout Shelter.

Fallout 4

In a region known as The Commonwealth, the sole survivor of Vault 111 must search for their missing child. Fallout 4 adds more to the series, including base building and an enhanced armor system, as well as an open world to traverse as you please.

As a modern entry into the Fallout series, it is no surprise that the Deathclaws in this game have been completely reworked. For the first time, the Deathclaws have some meat on their bones, as the entire model has gotten bulkier and more threatening.

Furthermore, while many previous Fallout games had a few variants of Deathclaws, this is the first game where the Deathclaw variants have completely different colors or models. For example, there are now Glowing Deathclaws covered in radiation, or Savage Deathclaws, which have been through some serious battles.

Fallout 76

Taking the Fallout series into the MMO space, Fallout 76 is a prequel to the mainline games. You’ll have to traverse the massive open world of Appalachia in order to build bases, survive, and grow stronger.

The most current release in the series is Fallout 76, a multiplayer game that allows you to explore the Appalachian Wasteland with your friends. Since this game is made with the same engine, everything in the game looks similar to Fallout 4.

This includes the Deathclaws found throughout Appalachia, which look exactly like their Fallout 4 counterparts except for a slight tan on their face and chests. However, Fallout 76 does have some unique Deathclaw Variants, such as the Scorched Deathclaw, which is infected with a specific plague found in the region.
