Summary
Your vocation inDragon’s Dogma 2plays a massive role in how you approach combat throughout your adventure. Augments are unlocked as you level up each vocation and are available to choose from on any vocation. Therefore,a Warrior can use a powerful Augmentfrom a Mage, and vice versa.
As you mix and match Augments, you may find options only available from other vocations, giving ample reason to level those up. Prioritize earning the best Augments DD2 has to offer, so you canfinish crafting your ultimate Thief build.

Original Vocation
Detection
Alerts you to the presence of any Seeker’s Tokens orWakestone shardsin the vicinity withnoiseandblinking lights.
Trickster
Detection is the best quality of life (QoL) Augment in Dragon’s Dogma 2, offering you some much-needed assistance in tracking down the elusive Seeker Tokens. While Trickster as a vocation is fairly niche and difficult to use, this Augment will make your life way easier.
Thankfully, you won’t need to put in much time to unlock this Augment, as itcan be acquired from Trickster level two. Spend a few minutes as a Trickster and the rest of your Seeker Token hunt will be a breeze.

Sorcerer
The Sorcerer vocation provides an excellent Augment inConstancy – the best way to stay on your feetin Dragon’s Dogma 2. Being hit byheavy blows will often send you tumblingto the ground or through the air if you don’t have enough Knockdown Resistance.
Constancy is great for Sorcerers and Mages, but every vocation can benefit from staying on their toes and contributing to the fight. Though you ideally won’t go looking to get hit, this Augment provides an excellent failsafe for an inevitable attack.

Thief
Subtlety is an essential Augment to roleplaying as a Thief, but it also helps you to avoid damage in combat, asenemies will be less likely to attack you.
If you’re continuously attacking an enemy at point-blank range, they will target you, so don’t expect Subtlety to make you invisible.

Vocations like Archer, Mage, Magick Archer, and Sorcerer are excellentranged options that can make great use of Subtlety. You’ll receive this Augment early in your playthrough, as it unlocks after Thief level two.

Fighter
Mettle is a top-tier Augment for melee-focused vocations like Thief, Warrior, and Fighter, as all three of those characters will need additional Physical Defense. Even Mages and Sorcerers can put this Augment to good use, as it maysave your life when an enemy rushes you.
If you don’t like melee but still want the Augment, youonly have to get to Fighter level twoto unlock it, so there’s little reason not to have this gem.

Warrior
Dominance is the best Augment in DD2 for heavy-hitting vocations like the Warrior and Thief, asknocking enemies downwill allow you toinflict increased damage. Large weapons like Greatswords and Axes already have plenty of Knockdown Power, but the Thief’s daggers could use more.
Warriors can expect to knock enemies to the ground with almost every attack when this Augment is equipped, while Thieves will do so far more often than ever. You’ll be well on your way to an excellentWarriorbuild when you unlock this Augment atlevel eight.

Mage
Apotropaism is an essential Augment forthe versatile Mage vocation, but equally useful regardless of your vocation, as this willbolster your Magick Defense. While you’re able to often find armor pieces that offer ample Physical Defense, the Magick variety is slightly less prominent.
High-levellate-game enemies like Wightsare dangerous spellcasters who will tear you apart from a distance if you’re not prepared. Increasing your Magick Defense is the best way to prepare for these dangerous foes, giving you plenty of motivation to acquire this at Mage level two.

Increase the chance ofinflicting debilitationswith your attacks by20 percent
Asperity is another top-tier DD2 Augment, bestowing increased chances toinflict debilitations on your foes. Any weapons that have a chance to inflict a debilitation, like theSpite daggers, will have a 20 percent increased likelihood of doing so.

A Sorcerer has plenty of Weapon Skills that can capitalize on this Augment, but feel free to pick this for any vocation, so long as one of your weapons or skills inflicts a debilitation. Acquire it atSorcerer level twoand get to work.

Warfarer
Zeal isone of the best DD2 Augments availableas it will immediately improve every one of your battles by allowing you to spam your Weapon Skills.
This Augment is exceptional but doesn’t offer much use when combined with theMedusan Spellbow, which heavily increases the Stamina cost of every Weapon Skill.
From the Thief – who loves to use Skull Splitter for DPS – to the Magick Archer, every Vocation that benefits from using their Weapon Skills frequently will appreciate the Zeal Augment. Whileunlocking it at Warfarer level sixmay take a while, it’s worth your time.
ImprovesStamina Recovery speedbyten per second
Stamina is essential to everything you doin Dragon’s Dogma 2, governing how quickly you finish fights and journeys across Vermund. Your experience will improve mightily if you pause less often to let your Stamina recover; unlike Zeal,Exaltation is constantly in effect.
The rate at which you recover Stamina heavily impacts how quickly you can begin running again after becoming tired.
Whether you candefeat a pesky Drake without enduring another round of meteors, or you don’t have to listen to The Arisen panting on the run across Battahl,Stamina is your best friend. Grind the Mage vocation tolevel nine and Exaltationwill be yours.
