While it’s not the most powerful option in Act 1, it’s an easy-to-find armor with a nice bonus if you are looking for a simple upgrade early in your playthrough.

Penumbral Armouris a rare, light armor. It provides a +3 bonus to Stealth Checks when obscured. The majority of Act 2 takes place in the dark, Shadow-Cursed Lands, making this a great armor for slipping in and out of the shadows mid-game.

A rogue’s greatest strength is the Sneak Attack option, which is heightened by this armor as it makes hiding much easier. Sling a shot from your bow while obscured and watching as your target takes heavier damage.

The Graceful Clothis a rare piece of clothing found in Act 1. This outfit provides your rogue a bonus that enhances Dexterity, a main attribute of the class. With its Nimble as a Cat feature, you also get +1 added to your Dexterity Saving Throws.

As a final bonus, you’re able to jump a bit further while wearing it, making it easier to reach distant areas. Increasing your ability to sneak and evade makes this armor essential early in the game.

With the Shield, when you’re about to be struck by a foe, your AC increases by 5, and you take no damage from Magic Missle. While its defensive power isn’t as strong as others on this list, the Shield spell boosts your survivability in battle.

The Helldusk Armour is one of the best all-around armors in Baldur’s Gate 3. Any class can wear it, despite not having the proper proficiency. Unlike other heavy armor, there is no Disadvantage on Stealth, so your rogue can still sneak properly in this outfit.

Granting Fire resistance and reducing incoming damage by 3, it keeps you protected on the battlefield. Purely used for defensive capabilities, it increases your survivability but lacks offensive boosts.
