ThePokemon TCG’s Black & White era features several top-tier sets with some ofthe most valuable booster boxes in the Pokemon TCG. Unova is one of the most beloved locations in Pokemon, with several superb trainers and premier Pokemon to catch.

While there’s a blend of old and new Pokemon that make up the most expensive cards in the Black & White era, Trainer cards comprise a hefty portion of the most desirable cards. There are plenty ofvaluable Charizard cardsto go around, and you’ll also find full-arts of your favorite characters from Unova.

The Emerging Powers Thundurus Full art from the Pokemon TCG.

Given thelack of price datafor many older booster boxes available,TCGplayer’sbooster pack market price (multiplied by 36) is used toestimate the valueof each box.

9Emerging Powers – $1,700

A Booming Era

Emerging Powers kicks off the Black & White era’s most valuable booster boxes with a decent set of cards to collect, particularlythe genie Pokemon: Thundurus and Tornadus.

While most of the cards aren’t valued in the double digits, this set’s price is based on more than justexpected value – or what the cards you get may be worth.

The Noble Victories N full-art from the Pokemon TCG.

Despite a relatively tame lineup of Pokemon to collect, this product soars high, reaching heights that would land it at the top ofthe Sword & Shield era’s most valuable booster boxes.

8Noble Victories – $2,412

And An Iconic N

Unlike Emerging Powers, the lineup of cards inNoble Victories features some excellent Pokemon choiceswith respectable value. N is the chase card from this set, and is easily one of the most desirable trainers from this era, making it no surprise that this set clears Emerging Powers by a sizable margin.

Despite featuring one ofthe best full-art Trainer cards in the Pokemon TCG, Noble Victories can’t quite break into the top tier of the best Black & White era sets.

The Next Destinies Zekrom EX from the Pokemon TCG.

With a relatively small margin to reach its next competitor, this set might climb the list, especially when a clearer picture forms regarding the price of these older booster boxes.

7Next Destinies – $2,448

Destined For The Big Time

Next up is Next Destinies, which features a strong cast of shiny Pokemon from Unova to collect, with atrio of chase cards eclipsing the $100 mark from this powerhouse set.Whether you prefer full-art Pokemon designs like Zekrom;s or you just want your shiny Chandelure, this set has a great variety for everyone.

This set is a nostalgic reminder of a simpler time without Alternate full arts, or Special Illustration Rares, as these cards harken back to the simple, rectangular images used in older sets. While these cards don’t quite reach the heights ofvaluable vintage sets like Neo Discovery, their simple designs offer a glimpse into the past.

The Boundaries Crossed Skyla Full art from the Pokemon TCG.

6Boundaries Crossed – $2,864

Approaching A Major Milestone

Much like Noble Victories, Boundaries Crossed is a beautifully varied set that features some fantastic Pokemon and Trainerfull-art cards that are as visually stunning as they are valuable. From beloved trainers like Skyla, Cheren, and Bianca, to fierce legendary Pokemon like Kyurem, Boundaries Crossed has it all.

As we climb the list of the most expensive Black & White era booster boxes, the competition becomes even tighter, as this set boasts five cards in the triple digits with a few more following behind. Featuring both forms of Kyurem, Boundaries Crossed is one of the best Black & White sets around.

The Plasma Freeze Ultra Ball from the Pokemon TCG.

5Plasma Freeze – $2,916

A Plasma Invasion

The Plasma sets usher in a new level of booster box in the Black & White era, with one of the most valuable collections of cards on the list. Plasma Freeze, the second of the three Plasma sets, is well-stocked with recognizable cards to collect, led by the Ultra Ball Secret Rare.

While there isn’t the same variety of high-priced cards in this set, the chase card commands about $240 in value – the most expensive chase card thus far. However, there are some incredibly valuable cards still to come in Black & White’s most expensive booster boxes.

The Plasma Blast Iris full art from the Pokemon TCG.

4Plasma Blast – $3,200

Blowing Past The Competition

Plasma Blast was the final of the three Plasma-themed sets to release, clocking in as the first booster box thus far to eclipse the $3,000 mark on the back of a team effort from its cards.

There aren’t many high-valued cards in Plasma Blast, but the variety of moderately priced cards is impressive.

The Legendary Treasures Reshiram from the Pokemon TCG.

The Iris full-art from Plasma Blast commands the highest price at around $140, but there’s a variety of cards in the $40-90 range that make this set special, as you’ll find Trainer cards, Pokemon, and rare items to collect.

3Legendary Treasures – $3,795

A Sparkling Jewel

Legendary Treasures might be the most divisive set on the list, given its all-gold Reshiram chase cards that can divide a room quicker than a vintage vs modern debate. The Reshiram and Zekrom versions of this gold design top the asset as its most valuable cards, withreturning Pokemon from Generation One also featured.

Mew EX, Lugia EX,and a collection of other eye-catching full-art Pokemon put the cherry on top of Legendary Treasures. Despite how you may feel about its most recognizable cards, there’s no denying that Legendary Treasures sits comfortably among the most valuable Black & White era sets.

The Plasma Storm shiny Charizard from the Pokemon TCG.

2Plasma Storm – $4,860

The Premium Plasma Product

A shiny Charizard chase card never goes out of style, whether you’re opening Neo Destiny for the elusive Shining Charizard, or scouring themost expensive Champion’s Path cardsfor that set’s shiny Charizard.

This Charizard soars far above the price of all other cards in the set and even triples the price of the Blastoise version.

The Dark Explorers shiny Gardevoir from the Pokemon TCG.

While it’s hard to choose from the array of valuable cards in this set, legendary Pokemon like Lugia, Articuno, and Zapdosare some of the highlights you’ll find in Plasma Storm. There’s only one product that can eclipse this all-star set as the most valuable Black & White era booster box.

1Dark Explorers – $5,724

A Light In The Dark

Dark Explorers is the most expensive Black & White era set, with an estimated value of around $5,700, with its featured Gardevoir worth around $250.

Due to the lack of sales data for Dark Explorers booster packs, the estimated value is very high. Therefore, this booster box would likely command a smaller lead over second place in reality.

Gardevoir is supported by a handful of gorgeous full-arts around the $100 mark, including Groudon, Entei, Kyogre, Raikou, and Darkrai in the collection. The variety of legendary Pokemon and gorgeous shiny cards makesDark Explorers the most valuable Black & White era booster box.
