Summary
We’re starting to see more and more ofHades 2thanks to the game’searly access release this summer, withthe first technical test scheduled to start in the very near future. Unfortunately, not everyone will be able to try out the game during this upcoming technical test as it’s limited capacity, but developer Supergiant Games has made sure that everyone can see the game in action by releasing a lengthy gameplay stream earlier today.
During the stream, Supergiant played through the entirety of the first major area in Hades 2, which will make up the game’s technical test. What with it being such a big chunk of gameplay, we get to see various new mechanics, a lot of different characters, a variety of new Boons, and a lot more that gives us a perfect idea of what Hades 2 will play like when we can finally get our hands on it.

One of the most exciting parts of this stream was, of course, the characters and how they’ve changed from the first Hades. Not only do we get to see new characters for the first time, such as Apollo, Odysseus, Hecate, and another daughter of Nyx in Nemesis, but we can also get to see new designs for returning characters like Demeter, Hypnos, and Schelemeus, who definitely isn’t Skelly.
Hades 2 Includes A Bunch Of New Toys To Play Around With
We also get to see a lot of combat in the stream, which is understandable given that’s what you’ll spend the majority of your time doing in the game. While those who have played the first Hades will find it extremely similar to the first game, Supergiant has added so many more Boons and skills to play around with. For starters, Melinoe can wield magic thanks to her status as a witch, and can utilize a variety of new skills as a result, allowing her to freeze enemies in place and fire magical attacks.
She also has a built-in sprint mechanic, unlike her brother Zagreus, and Supergiant explains that she’ll feel a lot different to play as. A great example of this is Melinoe’s Omega attack stat, something which players will be able to improve with Boons and can be used to charge up weapons and unleash powerful abilities. You can see how all this functions during combat in the stream above, or you can keep your fingers crossed and hope you get into the technical test by signing upvia the game’s Steam page.
