Summary
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leaguefans really aren’t happy with Episode 2 with the “pathetic” amount of content and features coming in the next update.
Although 2024 has largely been a great year for gaming so far thanks to the likes ofLike A Dragon: Infinite Wealth,Tekken 8,Animal Well, andPrince of Persia: The Lost Crown(just to name a few), there have been a few let-downs here and there. Most would agree that the biggest andmost notable disappointment of the year so far is Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
Kill the Justice League launched to mixed reviews and simply hasn’t recovered from there, with even the most dedicated players being disappointed with the repetitive content and lack of meaningful live-service elements. The first major update, Episode 1,at least brought The Joker into the mix, but itstill didn’t do much to bring players back- it looks like Episode 2 might suffer the same fate.
Yesterday,Rocksteady shared a development update for Suicide Squadthat detailed all of the content that’s coming as part of the first season’s second episode. Sadly, there’s not a whole lot to talk about, as Episode 2 basically just introduces new Two-Face-themed firearms and some Green Lantern-infused enemies.
It’s worth noting that new characters are only coming at the start of each Season, so there’s still going to be a bit of a wait until we get the next Squad member.
Suicide Squad players are already pretty against the game by now after the slow rollout of content and the previous few updates not offering much at all, but it seems like this might be the final nail in the coffin.Over on the game’s subreddit page, the comments underneath a post about the developer update all show just how tired the community is right now.
A lot of the comments express annoyance at how the promise of six weeks between updates has now increased to eight, while others have pointed out how minor the new content is. One Redditor, Smug_Dimmadome, simply said “Pathetic”, which led to other Redditors agreeing that it was “over”. Some fans even think that Season 2 isn’t going to end up happening because of how small the player base is and how slowly these updates are being rolled out.
The same sentiment can be seen in the replies underneath the Twitter post announcing the update, with the majority of comments being negative. There are some who seem to be excited to see more of Suicide Squad, but it certainly seems like Episode 2 won’t be enough to bring most players back.
