Summary

Rocksteady has announced that it’ll no longer be sharing weekly developer updates forSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, and will only release information when there’s “big news”.

It pains me to say it, but easily the mostdisappointing game of 2024 so far has been Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which launched to mixed reviews and hasstruggled to keep its community interested in that time. Remarkably, though, Rocksteady has still been sharing weekly developer updates about the game in the time since release, even if not all of them have exactly been received well.

These consistent updates have given some hope that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leaguemight be able to pick itself back up in the future and isn’t necessarily doomed to eventually meet a grim fate. Well, I hope that no one was counting on them too much, as Rocksteady has just confirmed that its most recent weekly blog update will be its last.

Just a few days ago,Rocksteady shared a weekly update for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League that was clearly thin on content, as it simply pointed players towards a content creator the team likes and reminded them of the difference between the Game Mode menu and Nexus screen.

If this didn’t make it clear enough that Rocksteady wasn’t going to be able to keep up with the weekly blog format since there’s simply not enough content to talk about, a message at the end of the page spells it out very clearly. The note says that developer blogs are being changed from weekly updates to whenever the team has “big news to share about future content”.

“Now that both Episodes for Season 1 are in your hands, our developer updates will change from being weekly to releasing them when we have big news to share about future content. We hope this will make the release of each new update an exciting event, while keeping you all up to date on all the happening with the game!”

Rocksteady says that it’s done this to ensure that each new update is an “exciting event” but that isn’t going down well with players.Over on the Suicide Squad subreddit, fans have pointed out how much it seems like Rocksteady is preparing to jump ship, with many thinking that wewon’t even see Deathstroke and the other playable characters join the game.
