Summary
Stellar Blademight get both a sequel and a PC port, as developer Shift Up considers expanding its latest IP. It’s also working on its next IP already, which is currently known as Project Witches.
This comes from the developer Shift Up’sapplicationto enter the Korean stock exchange, which provides a detailed account of everything the company has worked on and what it plans for the future. Here, we have the first reference to another Stellar Blade game, as Shift Up cites the success of other single-player games as a good reason to invest in the series' future.
The application was spotted and shared by Twitter userOkami Games, who highlighted the section which mentions the future of Stellar Blade.
Shift Up Comments On The Future Of Stellar Blade
To save you from crawling through the absolutely huge document, here’s the section that gets into Shift Up’s future projects. It’s said that the studio is, “considering producing a PC version and sequel to Stellar Blade,” adding that there’s “great potential” in the console gaming market.
Shidr Up also touches on its next game, Project Witches. “We aim to increase accessibility to game users through a cross-platform strategy,” it reads. “We have very high expectations for Project Witches.”
In addition, it’s stated that Project Witches will be “available on PC and mobile”, so this won’t be part of Shift Up’s efforts to continue tapping into the console market. Instead, this will continue on from its work prior to Stellar Blade, with the release of Goddess of Victory: Nikke in 2022 on mobile (ported to PC the following year).
Alas, there is no mention of anXboxport from what we can see here, which isn’t surprising given that the document also mentions Shift Up’s partnership withPlayStation. We’ll just have to see if this extends into a hypothetical Stellar Blade 2, since the first game wasinitially envisioned as a multiplatform releasewith no console exclusivity.
Stellar Blade wasa hit with fans and critics alikewhen it hit PS5 last month. Right now, it sits at 81 on Metacritic, with a user score of 9.3, indicating favourite reviews across the board.
